A Niche Does Not Need to be a Passion

Here I go again. Another post about selecting a niche. But I believe it is a topic that too many members overthink and thus have a tough time making a selection. I guess many people hear and read the word "Niche" and think it is this obscure thing because they still cannot grasp the simple meaning of the word.

LOOK AT YOUR PROFILE DESCRIPTION

Sometimes when I see a member having problems finding a niche, I will look at their WA profile for possible niches. There are many members who actually list niches in their profile descriptions. I will show some examples below.

But first I would like to address the statement I made in the title of this blog. A niche does not need to be a passion. But Robert, Kyle says in the training that a niche can be an interest or a passion. Aren't we supposed to pick a niche we know and are passionate about?

Yes and not really. You most definitely can pick a niche you have a lot of knowledge in and are passionate about. But you can also select a niche you know nothing about but are willing to research and learn all there is to know about it.

LET ME GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE

Last week a member posted a question about a niche he had decided to go with. He knew some good things about this niche but wasn't sure if it was a good enough selection. He mentioned that he likes to help people with information that can affect their health positively and was "learning" about CBD oil.

Did you catch the keyword there? He was "learning" about CBD and the health benefits it has for evertone. He basically selected a niche he didn't know much about, other than it being a natural product good for overall health. Then he started researching it and learning more great things that he could promote.

You can be successful in ANY niche you decide on, even if you do not have any first-hand knowledge. As long as you are willing to research it and learn all you can about it. Matter of fact, even though I know more about it than this member, I am doing the same niche and getting content ideas from the information I am learning about.

PROFILES WITH LISTED NICHES

As you can see in the above profile picture this WA member has an interest in Hunting and Carp Fishing. Each of these are niches. Why? Because these are things that tihis member is into and I know he is not the only one in the world with that interest. If others are even mildly into these things, they are niches. Remember, a niche is a group of people looking for something particular.

The above profile, though only 4 words long, describes a niche, disc golf. It is an alternative way to play golf and though you may not have heard of it before, many people are into this type of sport. I did a quick 1 minute search on Google and found a couple of good Affiliate Programs for it.

Even when a member doesn't list any interests in their profile description, you can sometimes find niches by just looking at their pictures. In the above image I see the niches of baseball caps and sunglasses. Niches are everywhere. Just look at yourself and your surroundings right now. I bet you can find at least a half dozen niches.

Are you using a computer or a smartphone to read this blog? Both of those are niches. Are you sitting in a desk chair or on your couch? Both of those are niches too. Anything that you use, wear or experience that many others do too are all niches. Test yourself and read my training at the below link. Remember, a niche can be practically anything.

I find niche thro video I learn in here

That is great Elizabeta.

This is why love writing and researching in my chosen niche. most of the topics i choose to cover i know very little about and the adventure of finding information that I would have never guessed i would come accross makes it all the more rewarding. I would say i'm student of that which i write on and I embrace that.

Thanks for the perspective Rob, Brad

You are welcome Brad. It is great to hear that you enjoy doing research in your chosen niche. If you are a person like me, learning new things can be quite rewarding.

Okay that's another food for the soul. Thank you

You are welcome Paul. Happy you liked it.

Another great post Boomer. Shows me it really isn't hard to find a suitable niche. Hopefully those struggling will read and benefit.
Thank you

You are welcome James. I hope members will read and learn from this because finding niches is really quite simple.

like it, and I learn more from you about choosing a niche.

Thank you, boomer :)

It is my pleasure. Happy to be able to help.

Enjoyable and insightful.

Thank you.

There is always something to learn in any niche.

This is true, even in niches you may already know much about.

Very useful post.Thanks

You are welcome.

I will be the first to comment! This post is so apropos for me now as I decide whether or not I am in the "right" niche of plant-strong and whole food lifestyles. That is what my site is about (I think you saw it) but sometimes I feel like a fraud because it is difficult for me to personally keep up with all the healthy stuff I write about.
So it feels like a different persona online versus the real me, who likes ice cream and eats chicken.
My take-away from your post is that it doesn't really matter much. Bottom line, I suppose, is -- as long as we can write intelligently about our niche, and have educated ourselves, (which I have), then what difference does it make...? Thanks for the great reminder.
/a.

Exactly. It doesn't really matter, especially if you can educate yourself to the point of making it easy for yourself to communicate what you know.

Great work on picking up peripheral clues Robert!

Thank you Michael.
