Finished Level 3 - Why I chose to Create 2 Sites
OK, So when I started this journey at WA. I was really confused about which way to go Niche of Affiliate. I decided to do both. Now this is NOT a suggestion. I'm wanting to share my experiences good and bad about my decisions here at WA.
In order for you to set appropriate goals I think you REALLY need to know yourself. One thing I know about myself is my determination is strong, My goal setting and raising is consistent, and I can create a schedule to work on both.
If you have a limited amount of time like maybe an hour a day or maybe even two. I would strongly suggest picking one avenue. You content will be much stronger and your confidence going forward will be much more focused (in my opinion).
As for me, I write out my daily goals and the time I allow for each step to achieve these and I divide this up exactly in 1/2 for each side.
One benefit I found while doing this was this. Along the way through the training I was doing all the tasks and following all the directions. Some of these really pushed me but I did them. However, because I was hmmm ambitious I created one of the worst sites you can. I found this out later in Kyle's training. He refers to it as a Bridge Page. Yep I did it! I thought I was on the right track. Just create a lot of posts and l;ink to your affiliate and make buckets of money! WRONG!
So, I became discouraged. I decided to shift 50% more of my time to the Affiliate Bootcamp. This way I could take a breather on my Niche site. This was where I started getting the missing pieces. I started learning about Centralization of your Reviews and Links. I also, started learning about how to put together a great review. (Yeah I'm still working on the GREAT aspect)
For example I have a product I use and love every day. Now I wrote up an embarrassingly short review on it then had a link for someone to buy it. I then had a friend of mine read it and he asked me what it did hehe. Boy did I miss the mark!
So, to kinda get to my main point. Because I had the other side to work on.,it did allow me to step back, get perspective and come at it refreshed and not feeling like I lost a lot of ground.
Meanwhile my affiliate side was really improving. I even posted one of my posts here for the community to review. I was really scared to do this because I looked at so many other absolutely stunning pages and felt mine were woefully absent of decent content and expression.
I just completed the 3 level of training for the Niche side and as the image above shows. I'm on target! I feel like I'm making progress and I'm making daily improvements. I'm boosting my confidence.
In fact, this is only my second blog I have shared here. I have now written in my to do list a goal of Blogging here.
Oh by the way, I want to say THANK YOU to everyone that commented on my site. EVERY comment was kind in their criticism and I'm making EVERY change that has been suggested to me. Oh yeah another thing about me. My cup is never full. I take learning very seriously and will never know it all. Besides how boring would life be if you didn't learn something new. WA has things set in such a way that people can actually learn something new each and every single day.
So, I just really wanted to say thank you and give you a little more info about what I'm trying to accomplish here.
Kindest Regards
Aaron

Keep doing the training and do all the tasks. I don't recommend doing anymore than what you have started as It might over stretch yourself.
Keep up the great work.
Very true, I will hold off starting my other 7 sites for now lol! But seriously, I am all about cleaning things up now and increasing content. I have plenty to work on and your right I would likely over stretch myself.
Thanks for sharing, I to want to start another site but have held off the urge for now. My next site will be an off shoot of my first site. They can and will compliment each other.
Thank you for your comment. That's one of the reasons I put it out there. I figured someone might be wondering what happens if you do it this way. Again, thank you for taking the time to read and comment.
Nothing is lost, everything has a purpose, it's just you can't see it now.
I believe learning is a very personal thing, we all have different way of learning and doing thing.
Personaly I think you did the right thing. Perhaps you feel a little messy in your head for now, however when you keep learning new things, you will realize your brain start to classify things and you see a better picture of what you need to do.
Sometime you will feel you're making zero improvement, when it happened, it means your head is in overheat zone. It's time to make a break, breathe. Go back to previous lessons for more clarity.
Learning is long journey with a lot of back and forth. After taking the same path many times, you will walk in a new direction with more confidence.
Good Luck...
Yes, you totally understood my point. Overheating is a GREAT way to put it. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment. It really means a lot to me.
This is a real encouragement to me as I consider myself a slow and reluctant learner until now... I have a few more years left in me God Willing and so I need to work on developing a growth mind-set rather than consider continuing to be held back from making positive growth with a fixed mind-set and failing to admit to myself and maybe to others close to me also that I can make mistakes and be wrong sometimes( otherwise referred to as being humble in a true sense of the word!) I believe that there is genuine strength in being truly humble despite having had many life experiences as an adult. Thanks for your wise words of instruction and encouragement. Apologies for the length of this comment. May be I should convert this into a blog post as I learn more.
No don't apologize. I loved your comment. Sometimes I feel like I need to shorten things up but then my point suffers. You make some very valid points. If I can help you in anyway please don't hesitate. Maybe theres some things I picked up from training that you missed or the other way around etc. Even getting pointers on our sites from one another can be of great help. Like I said in the post it was one of the scariest things for me to do but I am glad I did.Anyway, do keep in touch.
It's easy to get ahead of yourself here. But those bridge sites just don't cut it. Good idea to start Bootcamp. We are doing that next.
We are taking forever working on our first site, probably too long, but this is our first foray into online marketing and we have to make it succeed so we have no choice but to take it slowly and learn, then apply.
So, now you are on the right track, yes? You are determined and it will happen for you. Remember that we are all here on the journey with you.
Best of luck, Aaron!
Looks like you are going to be very very busy in the coming months, I'm sure you will make it work - good luck.
Wayne
Yeah I already am very very busy but as the training gets further along I notice the workload increases hehe.
Thank you for the comment

You took on a lot, Aaron! Working on two sites simultaneously is a major undertaking and affords a lot of time, energy and concentration. I think it's great how you learned from your mistakes and implemented a new strategy right away. That's a real winner's attitude.
Thank you for the kind words. I have always had a hard time with decisions and often feel unsettled when I make them. In fact when I was a kid a friend of mine got me a shirt and it had a dog standing between two fire hydrants and underneath it read Decisions, Decisions, Decisions and that seemed to sum me up pretty well. I know there must be many people that consider what I decided to do. That's why I thought it would be good to touch on the issues I am dealing with maybe it will help others.
Thank you
Aaron
I know it can be hard to make a decision, but you did, and that's so important. It doesn't matter whether it is the right decision or not as long as you make one and then adjust things on the way as you did. So you are definitely on the right way, Aaron.
Thanks of sharing Aaron. I battled with the niche vs affiliate route as well, and think I am still sort of straddle the fence in terms of my content.
I got some advice from a member here who suggested that starting out it is likely better to focus on the niche side of things because the MMO arena is pretty crowded.
Just food for thought, but I am going to build another site completely focused in the niche arena.
All the best,
Haven
Yeah I was told similar things. What I thought about was the recurring monthly you could get from the affiliate side. I also thought it would be easier to write about one main subject then maybe several potential items that I might be offering on my niche side. So yeah, it sounds like you and I are in a similar boat. Feel free to keep in contact if you would like to brain storm or need some motivation.
Thank you
Aaron

Hi Aaron. I like it that you learned from your mistakes, got busy trying to straighten things out and started helping others.
I was so confused at the beginning too. I chose the Niche side, because I could write about something I really knew about. After reading this article, it leads me to think maybe I made the right decision.
Someday I'd like to go to the BootCamp. I was hoping that it would be this month. Not sure that's going to happen yet. I have to get my baby website walking on her own just a little bit better. :)
Anyway, I wish you the best.
Wendi :)
Thank you so much for taking the time out of your busy day to read and comment on my blog. I really hoped and thought that maybe someone would be wondering what to expect if they did try it. I could have gone on a bit longer but I just wanted to touch on a couple topics and try to get people thinking.
It is a lopt of work but I really don't mind the extra work load. I really like the fact that when I get overheated and burnt out on one site I can focus on the other. The other benefit of this is because I know how I am. If I take a day off from the frustration and problems then it will be really easy to let myself take 2 days off then 3 etc etc. This way I am still working everyday and heading forward. So for my personality I really benefit from that.
Please keep in touch
