Warning To All WA Members
I got a call all the way from Los Angelos ( I live in Canada) from a guy named Micheal who claimed to know Kyle and wanted to help me market my site for only $2000 what a deal. I felt so important that this guy had to call little old me to help me out YEAH RIGHT!!. I do not know if the person is calling other WA members but I thought I would report it anyway. Beware of this guy as he in very convincing and seems to know a lot about WA.
Peace Bob

Thank you so much for the alert.
That is creepy. I hope I don't have my phone number listed anywhere where someone could find me and call me. You never know with the internet and fraudsters though.
Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the warning. Shame on whoever it is. :( People are so bananas sometimes, seriously. WA teaches you how to market your own your site, why do you need to pay someone $2.000.........rofl. Jeez.
Thanks again for posting this. I am glad you did not fall for it.
Thanks for the heads up. I have not gotten an email from the guy but I know now to be on the look out.
I received it as well! He contacted me via email. I never responded because it didn't sound right. How does he get our info? I think it has something to do with the domain purchasing process because I received his email the next day I bought my domain. Anyone else received a friendly call or email from Michael or whatever his real name is?
That's exactly it my domain is not registered as private so anybody can track were it comes from
Yup, total scam. The usual reason Members get these calls is because they didn't opt for "privacy" when registering their domain names, so their personal details are all over the web, ie. http://www.internic.net/whois.html It's very easy to work out who is hosting where, ie. if they see ns1.mywahosting.com then they know you're a Member of Wealthy Affiliate. Rich.
You purchase domain privacy from your registrar, some like Namecheap throw in the first year free when you register a domain and then it's $2-$3 a year thereafter. Others, like GoDaddy charge a lot more. :( R.
I just activated it! Thanks Rich. ahhh....all the things I don't know about this IM thing!
You're most welcome! The problem isn't just scam phone calls, but the risk of "identity theft" if you've used your home address and phone number. I advise anyone who doesn't have an alternative such as a business address to purchase "privacy". :) R.

Thanks for the warning - methinks someone should offer to mentor him at WAU so he can have an opportunity to earn some online wealth instead of scamming others.
Thats For sure :)
