Being an insomniac has at least some advantages

I am a chronic insomniac. i am a 30-something woman, and ever since I was 9 years old I've gotten maybe 3-4 hours of sleep a night. I've tried everything imaginable--doctor prescribed meds, OTC meds, yoga, meditation, apps with soothing sounds on my phone, essential oils----you name it, I've done it.

Anyhoo when I woke up at 3am this morning, I figured I could either lay there with my mind racing for 4 hours before I needed to get up (James and I are taking his new Subaru Crosstrek to find a nice hiking trail). Or I could get up and get caught up with all my WA stuff.

While I am way too tired to add content to my pages, I can respond to blog posts, add followers, ask questions, add this blog lol, etc. So here I am.

Also one thing I'm focusing on is Google authorship. I know there are several tutorials here that I will be following to do so.

So far I am loving being a part of WA. I love how involved this community is, and people really truly want you to succeed. I certainly hope I can (eventually) be as helpful and inspirational to others as many of you have been to me.

Okay half-asleep musings are over. Thanks for reading!

Betty

I generally sleep OK, but when something keeps me from sleep, I KNOW I have to get up and take care of it!!!

Same here! Once it gets in your mind, it can't get out and let you sleep until it's taken care of.

Wow Betty, I thought my 14-year old dog was driving me mad - he has Cushings Disease and needs to get up every 2-3 hours to have a pee. My exhaustion seems nothing compared to yours now that I know you've lived your whole life with it. Good to know you're enjoying the WA community - I hope it's the perfect place for you!

Congrats Betty, for going premium and for posting your first blog within Wealthy Affiliate. Well done and to be continued.

To your success,
Desmond

I know how to feels not getting enough sleep. I generally sleep ok but I often work at night and when I do, I never sleep well nor enough.
Like you say, it is hard to do more complex tasks when you are too tired but simple things like commenting on other peoples site or keeping in touch with other members here works ok and this is important as well.

Helps with a global communit. But you gotta survive!

oh that's really nice

Hello Betty hope you get caught up on your rest. You might want to check out the webinar they are having Friday night. It's on SEO That will help you a lot with google rankings for your website. Later. Michael Cox.

Yep I already signed up for it!!! Thanks for the reminder though.

Good one Betty, the older I get, the less I sleep. But my dogs help in that matter by constantly keeping me up. They sleep all day and then want to play at night. I'm like what's with you two?

Haha I've been there, done that! I used to have a dalmatian who was 65 pounds and had no idea how big he was. Max was the BEST dog ever in the whole wide world. I called him my spotted shadow because, well, he was spotted and he was literally with me all day everyday.

This was fine, but at night he would lay horizontally and/or diagonally on the bed. Even with a king size bed, between Max, ex hubby and our other dog, sleep just didn't come readily. But most days it was worth it to have everything important to me so close for the night.

Right now my dog Zoey is 8 pounds. She does lay horizontally in the bed, but that still leaves plenty of room for me. Some days I even sleep as much as 6 hours! Lol

My dogs are both about 50 pounds and can really disturb when they want....I'm lucky to have a 2 foot space while they get the other 48 sq.ft. Oh well.

Betty, I lived off 3 to 4 hours of sleep until I hit 50 and now I need 5 to 6 hours. I will say enjoy being an insomniac because I miss losing those extra couple hours of wake time. Thanks for the share. Jay

You know how to seize the opportunities! That's really what success is all about.
