How do you Promote your Business on Facebook?
Hey guys! How are you today ? =)
Last week (August 3d) I decided to invest €14 in an ad promotion on Facebook. The investment sounded reasonable and I wanted to know if it was worth it.
While one week is probably not long enough to draw conclusions I definitely saw an increase (on my facebook page and website) in traffic, likes and even referrals on WA. I made one referral per day for 6 days, something I'd never achieved before. Whether or not it is related to the promotion on Facebook is hard to say but it could be?
Here are screen shots of the results during the promotion !
Feel free to share your thoughts and own feedback on your facebook page promotion!
Cheers =)

Nice! Social Media is still down the road for me but your success makes me want to work faster! :-)
I don't know if it is a success but it's a start! =) Thank you for dropping by
All the best!
Sarah
That is great! I have been afraid to promote my fb page, but now that I see you can achieve with it I may have to try!
Thanks for sharing
I'm sure the promotion helped, and you could reinvest some of what you received to reach a greater amount of people. It looks like you got an engagement of about .8%, so you have a pretty good idea of what to expect per campaign in the future. Obviously, this could vary some, but I wouldn't think it would be a whole lot. It's not much money to give up. I think it's worth it. Congrats.
Hi Sarah
This is good information, thank you.
It's useful to see that you had some engagement with your WA business from this (which I assume was the point of the exercise) because of the discussion that was had last week regarding so called "click farms"!
Just to confirm, did those 6 referrals go on to fill in their profiles and photos and have you had any upgrade to Premium yet?
Not trying to be nosey about your business, just interested to see the effectiveness if your campaign.
Cheers Sarah
Mark
No I haven't had any referral gone premium yet. One of them did complete their profile and started building a website.
To be continued.... =)
Fingers crossed for you then Sarah, just one upgrade would more less pay for your ad.......I think the term then becomes "funded proposal" which can be an ever increasing self costed ad campaign!!
Mark
Those 6 are quality clicks, though. The gurus constantly preach about quality traffic, but you have to reach a lot of people to get that quality traffic. Just under 1% engaged, but about 5% of those took the time to check out you and WA and make a move. What you paid once for that is roughly what you would pay every month for Jaxxy or Aweber. I think it was an excellent outcome for the first shot. There are little things you might do to make it more attractive perhaps and may be double your payment. Hope it continues to work well for you.
Thanks, I will definitely give it another shot, make changes, run tests and share the results!
That's very good of you Sarah, will look forward to your next batch of results.......might give more of us the encouragement to get involved without the feeling of potentially being ripped off.
Mark
Could I just ask what demographic, if any, your ad/promotion was aimed at Sarah?
Thanks....Mark
Well I don't feel like I've been ripped off lol. I will probably run more tests but so far I think it has helped me promote my page and increase traffic. I'm also happy with the increase in WA sign ups but again I would need to run more tests to be sure it's not just pure luck lol
Well that makes it very worthwhile then! Great work!! So now I ask you, was the ad directly going to a landing page, or did it take them to your blog and they clicked from there??
I find the Facebook paid promotions to be a really good marketing tool...last time I spent US $8 and got 200 new page likes :)
it's lead to regular website visitors but have only just placed affiliate advertising on that site due to what I have learned here (have had this site for about 6 months)...so time will tell...but traffic wise my work in social network marketing is a huge success...these are the stats from 1 of my sites for the past month...the only promotion is Facebook and G+
I know...right? haha I have never had a site with a bounce rate like it ever before...this site is a highly targeted niche and I know what the visitors want and I give it to them.

If you're paying for advertisement on Facebook, I recommend you and everybody to use the Facebook Power Editor which is much more powerful and enables you to get better results. :)
With it you could actually confirm if your new referral came from your advertising efforts on Facebook or not.
Here's a free guide on how to use the Facebook Power Editor:
