Have you got total cache installed by any chance? you could use that to reimprove your speed. Yoast is a good product and i swear by it on all my sites, before abandoning it i would email teh developer and see if they can help!

I think there's a plugin to import settings from AIO SEO To Yoast but not sure if it works in reverse. Could be something to consider. Yoast support may be worth contacting about this issue as well.

I'm using a specific theme on my WP blog, which has a built in affiliate re-directs plugin. For example, my cloaked link would look like this:
http://addmusclefast.com/g
Look at this, my friend:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/thirstyaffiliates/
or read through this:
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-cloak-affiliate-links-on-your-wordpress-site/
There are ways out there ;o)
Cheers, Kay
Brilliant! Thirsty Affiliate works :-)
Thanks very much, it will only take me 10 mins to transfer the links and then I can set-up my new theme.
Also, thanks for the follow, I've added you to my network.
Cheers,
Mark

I was wondering if anyone has experimented with pop-up newsletter subscribe boxes, rather than a widget on the sidebar? I'd like to reserve the sidebar for ads and categories.
Thrive Leads. I just started using it and it's awesome.
You can make popup forms, sidebar forms, the header bar, in content forms, and a few others. Basically, just every type of optin form there is.
The only problem is, it's $97.
Sumome's List Builder is great, too. But with the free version, you'll be limited to just one design/template.
But they're Smartbar might work for you too.
Ok great, I'll check that one too. I don't mind paying for something that will pay for itself.
Thanks
Mark
Another vote for thrive leads...although Opt In Monster is pretty good too. Much more expensive though.
Popups work. They are kind of annoying, but they work. This article might be interesting to you too: https://thrivethemes.com/exit-intent-myth/
Thanks, I've just read that article and I found it very useful. It addressed all my concerns and shows that statistically a pop-up opt-in box displayed immediately, or within 10 seconds is much more effective than an "exit intent" box. Personally, I don't find pop-ups annoying, as long as the content offered free for subscribing is useful.
I do have an optimize press license spare, but it only seems to handle opt-ins on specific pages you add the control, which is a shame because it's quite expensive.
Looks like I'll be buying the Thrive one as it does everything I want it to.
Cheers

You are right, the free version limits you so much, I have not upgraded yet but it has done well for me.
I use Sumome, works great and there are so many different ways to hang it out there. Check out this link Call to Action with SumoMe Smartbar San
Hi San,
That looks great, thank you! It's not too intrusive and I'm sure would definitely increase subscribers.
Cheers

Are newsletter pop-ups worthwhile instead of a widget?
