Hi friends , is there a way to be sure that the domain name I am about to purchase is not penalized / blacklistded before? It is a good one , a 5 yers old domain with a brandabl

I googled mine and many other possibilities and I found articles people posted slamming one particular domain name. I was lucky to see that. The one I bought isn't starting out on the wrong foot with an obvious black eye. I think that's all you want to know. If it isn't obvious, it will probably be fine. As Carson said, you're making it yours.

Hi divadejunk, thanks for your reply.
By saying "I Googled Mine" do you mean that you just entered the phras "www.divadejunkdomain.com" and googled it?

Yes, the domain name with and without the .com. I have McAfee antivirus and on the one I spoke of, it blocked me from getting on the site with Whoa you don't want to go there or something to that effect.

Thanks very much for clearing it up (It was already clear but it's my English, thank you for your precious time, divadejunk )

Hi Bedros, take a look at this link it will tell you about some of the backlinks https://ahrefs.com/

Thanks very much Bullet , just looking into it. Wish you the best.

Hey Bedros,

There really isn't any tool that you can use to find out how the search engines will favour a domain. There is no "blacklist" anywhere that you can use to find if a domain has been punished, the search engines wouldn't want to disclose that info.

You should be fine because you are going to be adding your own content to the site which Google will make it's decisions on.

You are a new owner here and the site is going to have brand new content, I would think you will be ok.

Carson

Hi Carson , thanks for your precious time and reply ; really appreciate it.

I was looking to the link below to make it sure as much as I can ; I am starting a long term project and just want to be sure that my hard builded content would not be punished for the "bad record" of the domain I was about to purchase.

I'm not sure if that statement is true or not. I've heard of people intentionally leaving off squeeze pages and forced optins so people would share content and then once it went viral adding them back in, but I don't know if google will automatically penalize you for linking to other websites.
