Please give me easy steps 1 ,2, 3.... THANK YOU

It's complicated. More like steps 1 to 10 than 1, 2, 3. I've just helped a couple of people with moving their websites so I have the instructions already in my sent emails. Send me a PM and I'll give you my email address. ~Marion

Thanks Marian, you are right. It took a lot more than three stops. But I finally managed it, and everything is completed now and working well. I used A plug-in for WordPress and An FTP program.

By contacting the other host to see if they will do it for you. They usually do judt for the business. Good luck

Other host would have charged 150. I managed it for free. Took about an hour to figure out and 30 min to do

A member here did a video for this, it's for Hostgator but the steps should be transferrable if you're using another host. http://bit.ly/1KK9Tf3

Log in with your domain name registrar.
Change the DNS settings.
Sorry, no step 3:)

Not correct. That only changes the domain pointing.

Sorry about that. I didn't realize there was so much involved with this process.

hi, will someone please tell me how i can add a subscribe function to my site - so people can be notified about new posts/content automatically?..like a simple subscribe to my blog

Hi, this may help: ~Marion

Thanks for posting that, Marion!

that is great, but it is not what i was asking for, and it does not answer my question

You can pay for an autoresponder like aweber or getresponse. No-one is going to subscribe unless you give them something of value for free.

So, people would never want to subscribe to a blog that they have visited and they like so they can be notified of new posts for them to check out?

Not in my experience.

Does anyone know....

How do google/other search engines handle domains that include small words such as "a, and, with, for, now, my, for", etc which are part of a domain n

It is very interesting question, and I'm very surprised with domain I choose.for example SmartNewUnemployment.com which i started not to long ago it only has one post. But i move to my other side which is my passion. And it is very surprising to me that i have fewer searches and views but the session for unique user is much longer for example 2 min versus 7.5 min.Still learning and hope i'm reading stats correctly.

Good Question, Attention to detail!

Every words matters...no matter how small or large. Make everything count!

Hi upsgirl, Can you give me an example of how every word matters?

Ok...let me use one of your examples...
3042 Monthly Searches for kidstrampolines
1110 Monthly Searches for trampolinesforkids
My personal opinion is that if you take the "the..." and "my..." forms of the domain name, you must always remember to promote your site with the full form of the name. If not, people are likely to forget to affix the necessary "the" or "my". Make sense?
Google knows the EXACT phrase...and using Jaaxy, we know the EXACT phrase and numbers.

Thanks that helps me understand a little bit better. Adding the "for" makes it 30% as popular as with only the two words.

Oh good...I think...lol!

2 questions:

1) Does making several related domains with good keywords in each of the domain names, and then pointing/forwarding them all to one primary domain create

Would owning the .biz .co .info .net and .org extensions of your main .com domain increase SEO?

It seems similar to Ben's first question. Just want to confirm. The domains with the other extensions would all link to the .com.

No, they are only concerned with your content.

Ok...either way...your helpful content is all that matters...make sense?

Oh cool...you're welcome!

Thank you! Yeah makes sense.

Hi Ben

In answer to question 1

Keywords in domain names don't have the standing they once did.

The search engines are more interested in the quality and relevance of the content.

Question 2

To put it simply NO!

Creating a "group" of sites like this would be perceived as a "Link Farm" which would harm your site's rankings.

Search engines would perceive this as a means to artificially increase the number of backlinks to each of your sites and a way of artificially trying to increase your sites popularity.

Also, think of the customer experience. If the content is closely related I guess they would potentially share customers. Would you rather go to one site to buy your sports kit or separate ones for shoes, tops, shorts etc.

One site would also have more content that is frequently updated and, therefore, attract the search engines attention.

Dave

THANK YOU Dave! Those were really great answers. Just what I was looking for.
