Hi All

Today's WordPress tip is how to order you pages so they display in the order you want then to

Step 1

Go to your pages and click on the quick edit of the page like shown below

Look to the right hand side and you can see a box for page order, put the number you want in the box - so for example this is a Home page so I gave it No 1.

I then numbered all the other pages in accordance to my menu so they display as I want them to in the pages widget. So go through all your pages and put the order number you want them to display in

You can also allow or disallow comments here as well for each page

Step 2

Go to your widgets and set the page widget to display pages by order

Once you have done this all your pages will display in the widget in your side bar as the order you have set

Remember this is good for SEO because if you link your pages in a drop down menu you are controlling the web spiders as they will be forced to crawl the pages that display on your home page widget in the order you have set, this tells the web spiders that each page is relevant to each other, I saw my ranking increase by doing this

As you can see my widgets page order matches the main menu so I force the web spiders to crawl the pages in order because I have internal linked each page in the drop down menus
