Hello to you all, firstly I would like to say a big thank you to all those who rallied round yesterday and commented on my "Hard day today" blog post, your support made a big difference to me, thank you indeed

I today's post I wanted to talk a little bit more about the marketing mindset or should I say how to think like a marketer, if your wondering about the title, all will be explained shortly.

I have read recently a post about being confused about using the pretty link plugin, if you don't know what that is, I have written a blog post explaining how to use it, you can read it here

I wanted to explain a little deeper why this plugin is one of your best tools in the marketing arsenal, that we will be building up slowly

This plugin has two very useful and in my opinion necessary functions, I will explain them below

1. It cloaks your affiliate links, so why is this important and what does this actually mean.

To understand this you need to understand Google a little better, I have a bit of bad news for you - Google does not like affiliate marketers because there are so many people trying to game the systems and unfortunately we all get tared with the same brush.

When the web spiders crawl your site they will give you a slight negative score for having affiliate links on your page, so the pretty link plugin can hide this fact so you are getting better rankings

I tip for when you are creating a new site is this "Don't put any affiliate links on your site until you get good rankings and then ad them using the pretty link plugin and you will get ranking faster

2. It gives you the ability to track your links

To understand this, I will give you the plain truth about successful marketing,here it is

There are no good marketers, just good testers

Successful marketing = testing

There are two ways to carry out marketing

1. Chuck it out there and chance it

2, Test stuff

If you ever wondered why some people make millions in internet marketing its because they use the second method rather than the first.

Being able to track what you readers are doing and what links they click on, is going to give you the ability to change the design of you site in-order to increase your earnings, which I take it we all would like to achieve.

The big guns in this business spend about $10,000 testing their marketing campaigns before they put a site out there, they then pay an expert copy writer, another large sum of money to create sales pages that convert like crazy.

Most of us do not have the luxury of throwing that kind money at our sites, so we need all the help we can get and free tools like the pretty link plugin, in my opinion, are not nice to have but a must have

I chose my niche because I was able to see, that more people clicked on the iPhone links on my candy crush site, than the candy crush ones, indicating a strong desire for that product, giving me highly valuable information when choosing my niche.
