Help with Editing content

I have really struggled with editing the content I write.

I just love it when i get someone saying that I have missed a word or the phrase does not make sense.

Even simple tasks like Meta descriptions have been a challenge. it seems I think it but don't and write the same way.

I find I do this at night much of the time and my re reading skills seem to be a very low My accuracy rate drops dramatically and I just don't see the errors.

I have checked out some reasons for the problems, and was lead to this text to speech app called Natural reader.

Let me say right up front I am not affiliated with this site in any way. i am only using the free version which is quite adequate.

What I have found is by cutting and pasting a post or or page text into the app.It reads the text back to me. I then can hear what I have written, and fix any issues before publication.

It is really a great free tool. It is like having a proof reader with me

I am pretty sure that there is someone else who is facing the same issues maybe this technology might help.

If any one has any other ideas on Proof editing content let me know

This is wonderful information to share! Thank you! :)

Hi - I have a G+ community setup which I had intended asking people to join, for this purpose.

The idea is, it's a closed community, so anything you post won't be indexed in the search engines - and you can only join by invitation.

I haven't proceeded with it as I wasn't sure if anyone would be willing to post content that they wanted proof read, in case someone else within the community "copied" it.

If I'm wrong, let me know and I'd be happy to kick it off?

All the best, Mark

Hi not sure on that but thanks for the idea

I have two suggestions for you. 1; write as if you are talking to someone. 2; Ask someone to proofread your work. When I write a 800 word blog, I typically proofread it three times, and I've always found errors on the third reading. The way we understand what we have written is many times different from the way other people understand it.

I hope this helps
Darrell

Good ideas as far as someone else proofing that is the best just not practical all the time. You might like to try text to speech technology. It is amazing what you hear and see when it plays back

Hmm wonder if there is a niche hear

I like to test this one, I have troubles too, thank for pointing this out to me
