A new insight into backlinks
I just started affiliate BootCamp about a week ago and learning more tips about the previous work I did on my niche website! I just heard Kyle say not to use backlinks, in his training video about elaborating your website. Apparently it hurts your google ranking! I am so sorry for all the comments I left and included my website with it. As well, I will no longer accept comments from folks who leave their website addy along with it.
Well, that`s why I love blogging here. So Steve wrote back and suggested that I just delete the link after opening up my commenter`s website. I do want to return the favor to everyone that comments on my site! So this is what I will do from now on. I just didn`t realize it wasn`t a good idea to accept comments with a backlink. So go ahead leave a comment and leave a backlink. Just remember to delete the link before saying approve:)

If someone leaves their website address, I usually remove it (although I will still approve the content). Not only does it not serve them much value at all, it will actually hurt your on page rankings having a bunch of links to other websites.
Hey Kyle! Do you think If I go and remove all the links from the comments already approved it will make any difference? I have like 70 comments most with back links...
Yes Damon, I am talking about the field where you can enter your website address. Is that not a backlink??
Well i was unsure if you meant under the field that asks for the URL itself or if people had been leaving a back-link URL in the comment text box itself.
I was not aware of this, thanks for the info.
It`s in this training wrap up video at 3:31. Affiliate Bootcamp - Elaborating on Your Site Framework - Tell me what you think, he says does not greatly affect your ranking but dilutes your content a lot...
Yeah I think I missed that part when watching that video before.
It appears as long as the comment is a detailed and a relevant comment he allows it. I would think that would be anything engaging for the content in your post.
Either way good to keep in mind for future comments at the very least. Thanks for the heads up on this, I will keep the back-links I allow from folks to a minimum from now on for sure.
No problem Damon. I have been advised to go to my website and delete all the unnecessary url`s so far. Probably a good idea if you have lots on your page as well.
I will leave my website link from time to time, but it is only for them to return the favor. sometimes getting comments on your site is challenging some days. if it is links to their posts and pages I agree. but either way, you will be fine. give most users the benefit of the doubt, sometimes people do things but they are not done intentionally. Hang in there!
It is totally challenging getting comments sometimes. I just wanted to give people an easy option if they want to comment back and help me out, lol! But I am taking steves advice now and still going to put the comment on my site but not till after I delete the website field.
Don't be too harsh on yourself, or over-react, either. It is a minor mistake, one that all (well most) of us make when getting started and full of zeal and excitement.
I wasn`t down at all actually, lol! Just learn something new everyday! But Steve left an awesome idea, I`m going to re-vamp my blog...
I leave my website link when I comment on someone's blog so they know where to go if they want to return the favor but I expect them to delete it before publishing.
You CAN delete those links, you don't have to outright reject those comments:)
