How can I stop chatgpt adding *#-please?
I wondered if there is a way to stop ChatGPT adding various signs like # * -? I normally copy what ChatGPT has written to a Word document and always have to remove various sign
I have the same issues, Roy! It's usually the headers on ChatGPT that are in Bold. When I try to copy any formatted text (whether I click on the "Copy" button, or drag the mouse over the text) I always get those crazy symbols, like hashtags or asterisks. Still struggling to find a way around it.
Isaiah 🙂
I'm glad I'm not the only one, Isaiah, Valerie is also looking for an answer!
It looks like Robert has probably given a good answer and I'm sure that Frank will when I read his reply.
Rudy believes that I may be able to change the settings in Microsoft Word, which is something else I will look at.
I appreciate you joining in the conversation, thank you.
Roy
As Robert said, you can train ChatGPT. The way I do it is to add information to my customisation. I have a list of words and symbols to exclude.
;-)
Richard
Thank you, Richard, for your input, it's appreciated.
Yes, I will try out Robert's advice and see what happens. It doesn't take long to format, but on the other hand, it's one of those jobs I could do without.
Have a great Monday.
Roy
If you use the customisation function it can be set up once, and forever. If you send me a PM I'll send you a copy of mine which might save you some time.
;-)
Richard
Thank you, Richard, I appreciate that. I will send you a message now.
Have a good day and thank you.
Roy
Train chatgpt to remove it. Talk to your chatGPT as if were a person. It does forget sometimes. ask it to not include it in its responses. Have fun!
Hello Robert,
Yes, I have noticed that ChatGPT sometimes forgets things and gets mixed up, having said that, we as humans can sometimes do that! I will give it a try next time and see what happens.
I appreciate your help.
Roy
That's good, Valerie; I'm glad I'm not the only one.
I was thinking about you about a week ago, as I hadn't seen you on the platform. I do hope that everything is working out for you and that you are enjoying your relatively new accommodation, although I'm guessing you may have been there for around a year now.
Have a great day.

Hi Roy
You can specify those exclusions in "Customize ChatGPT." I mostly use custom-made GPTS, and I add my exclusions to them as well.
"Chat GPT With Canvas" is pretty good at remembering your formatting preferences, although you may need to repeat them a few times since it is still in beta.
I manually select and copy from ChatGPT instead of using the copy icon, which eliminates the markup characters. 😎
Rock On! 🤘

Hello Frank,
Thank you for your reply, I thought you would come up with something!
Do you know if there is any training on the subject you're talking about on the Wealthy Affiliate platform? I looked at quite a bit of the AI training in the early days, and I know that they have covered a lot. I don't know if there's any training on this particular subject.
I will have a play around with your suggestions and the other suggestions within the comments.
Have a great day.
Roy
Hi Roy
I’m not aware of any WA training that deals specifically with this topic, but I imagine some of it is mentioned in the various AI classes.
It is pretty straightforward forward once you start configuring things in your ChatGPT account. 😎

Good morning Frank,
Maybe I need to go back to the Wealthy Affiliate AI training, I'm sure that I would learn something, it's also good to refresh ourselves. I have a little bit more time this time of year, which is great.
ChatGPT crashed on me last night, apparently, it did for several people!
Have a great day.
Roy
Hi Roy
I couldn’t hurt to review the WA AI training.
Don’t forget to use some of your free time to enjoy the holidays! 😎
