Pay It Forward

I believe in paying it forward in all things in life. It is kind of what my website is all about really. You take what you learn, your blessings (no matter what kind), and you give back when you are able.

I have been helped by so many people, in so many ways, all my life. I have had a lot of low times in my life but I always get back up. I never let it get me down. Life is a journey and you only get one go at it so make the best of it. Will a bad experience be made better or worse by a good attitude?

I have a wonderful related story to tell. It is actually my daughter's which she told me when she got home from work last night. I need to give just a little background first. She just started a new job 2 weeks ago after being out of work for about a month. Nothings been turned off yet (except phones - non essential items lol) but when her first payday rolls around, it will be close on a few bills.

I don't tell you this for sympathy, it's just background to the story. We receive assistance so our rent is covered and thanks to food stamps, the kids don't go hungry.

My daughter is working in dietary at a hospital which is in walking distance so YAY for saving gas lol. None of the people she works with know her very well and she is a private person like me. So, no one knows our financial situation.

Our Angel - this woman is.

A woman who works at the hospital did something wonderful last night. This woman does not know my daughter and does not even work in the same department. She walked up to my daughter and asked if she could give her some money. My daughter declined numerous times as this woman continued to try and give her money and told her she was fine and didn't need it. (I know, pride issues. I have them too.)

Finally, the woman pressed a folded bill into my daughter's hand and told her, "My husband and I felt God putting it on our hearts to give this to you." My daughter looked down, thinking it was probably a $20. To her surprise, it was actually a $100. She tried to get this angel to take it back. When that didn't work, she promised repayment as soon as possible.

The woman told her it was not necessary. It was something they felt God wanted them to do. And then my daughter told me something about this couple, they are bikers.

Bikers are beautiful people!

My daughter is overcome with gratitude as am I. I told her about some times when I have been blessed and sometimes all you can do to repay this kindness is pay it forward when you are able.

Anyway, I had to share this awesome blessing which has made our year! Always give back when you can, even if it is just sharing knowledge or experience.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Beautiful story!!

Angela what a wonderful story! I been told, that when you refuse the money etc., that is offered to you, you are rejecting the blessing. We have to remember, that people are just vessels used by the universe, in order to provide for us what we need. I have had many similar wonderful experiences in my life. If we approach every moment of our lives with a feeling of lack, then universe is there to make us happy-so in turn we just get more of that! Thank you for sharing!

Enjoyed this - a little saddened though that working people have so little. There is something wrong with the way all of our labor goes toward survival. I hope you find abundance in every way.

Thanks. We are richer than you could possibly imagine where it matters - Love. Things always have a way of working out. One of my favorite quotes: "Everything is always all right in the end, if it's not all right then it's not the end." - Joyce Meyer

Awesome.

Actually it was John Lennon!

WOW! Just yesterday I posted a John Lennon quote on my new website. The one about his teacher asking him what he wanted to be when he grew up and he said "happy". The teacher said he didn't understand the question, he said they didn't understand life.

Lord Mercy! What a great teaching moment and a testimony for all who read this. Thanks for sharing!! Blessings!!

Yes, bikers are wonderful people. I used to ride in fact. Most of the bikers I know are all Vietnam Vets, great group of guys! Kim

I never rode but I love riding on the back! I belonged to a social club when I lived in Baltimore.

I rode older bikes years ago, but Harley riding I was a back seat driver...Lol!

Awesome , Thanks for Sharing...

Synchronicity! My daughter works as a dietician in a local hospital and my wife and I were bikers (btw like the comment:), for quite some time, until my accident in 2007. 'Pay it forward' is a good way to go. I guess. We're all connected in some way or other. Best wishes. and thanks for interesting post.

awesome! My daughter is also going to school for pharmacy tech :)

Thanks for sharing

This is so touching and so beautiful, Angela. Thank you for sharing.

Blessings to you and yours.

Jenn

Beautiful story, Angela! I had similar things happen when I had hungry kids many years ago. I try to return those favors all these years later by paying it forward as I can.
