I enjoy sharing things and am looking at making a blog of some sort. I then had the thought of doing so with an actual website like what we do here. I do and use a lot of stuff

I am deciding on how to set up a blog for my husband's daily rants.
He has an opinion about everything :-)

If this proposed site would be about social/political/economic blogging, be prepared for an onslaught of trolls and spam. I have been to many such sites looking for ideas and observed how many trolls get on the comments section. Site owner then has to be always updating spam control and throwing out trolls. Because of that, I decided against such a site for now. I know we all have to manage these pests to some degree, but nothing brings them out like opinions on anything will.

Oh hey I guess you're right it is a similar thing.
Mine wouldn't be so narrow though.
But If im gonna blog random stuff anyway I may as well try and make some money from it!

If I understand this correctly, you will be blogging on a certain subject matter, or interrelated subjects , and that right there would be a niche.
