Hi Eddy and Paul, I did the update because there was a call to do so by other WA members, citing security issues with WP. When I went to my site to update, there was an update notice already there, telling me I need to update. So I did. I loathe updates because of the unknowns. Everything is working now though.
Glad to hear it Mary. WA forces the updates because of security reasons. But unfortunately not all the themes and plugins we may use were updated around the same time. So it's a gift and curse.

Good question; I hope this helps

Trying to add link to story here: www.truthdig.com/eartotheground/item/ad-blocking softwar
Hi MaryESS. I clicked on that link and was taken to a page that said:
"Sorry, Page Not Found
We dug around, but couldn't find that page for you."
There is a lot of ad blocking software, usually in the form of browser plugins. I've used these plugins before, however, I am not concerned that they will disrupt affiliate marketing. I am quite familiar with this type of software. If you'd like more information, I'll be glad to help you.
Hi - thank you for the quick reply - I am curious as to why that link was not accessible. Anyway, the article cited cases in German courts where the ad blocking software was being contested because it specifically made it difficult, if not impossible, for bloggers to make income. In other words, affiliate marketers. I am always somewhat skeptical of anything I read, but this one had me concerned.
Hi MaryESS. It is good to see that you are on the lookout. Keep posting content, and you won't need to worry about the ad blockers. As long as you have traffic coming to your site regularly, you will do great.

I have a domain name and site name and next step is a theme. I just drew a blank, not getting anywhere with that. Thanks
Hi Mary, this comes down to personal choice, but help is at hand? Have a look at what my good friend Marion here at WA has for us all.
See if this helps..? if so drop her a thank you comment. Choose a New Theme
