Do you dream of an online business? Are you focused on what you could achieve online? Do you go to bed each night with new ideas in the back of your mind? Perhaps the hopes, dreams and goals for the future?

Today I wanted to talk about the dream of an online business and the reality of what we can all achieve. As I meet people on Wealthy Affiliate, I see a lot of hopes and dreams. If you are an active member of the community then I'm sure you know what I mean. I also see some people who are looking for a quick fix and an easy way to financial freedom. Today I thought it would be a good idea to look at some of the things that have helped me to move forward and I hope you will also share some of your experiences within the comments section too.

The Wealthy Affiliate membership gives us a fantastic opportunity with everything that we need to create an amazing online business. Its an unfortunate fact that a few people arrive here with the mentality of making easy money. If you have ever done any searching on the internet for ways to make money from home, then I'm sure you will have come across more than one or systems that claim you can make ridiculous amounts of money. Now don't get me wrong, what I consider crazy money is very possible here on Wealthy Affiliate. I've made some fantastic money with affiliate marketing that I never would have imagined possible. Affiliate marketing gives us the potential to write our own paycheck. But it's never as easy as what those scammy systems tell you. I think it's largely those fake systems that set some people off in the wrong direction.

So if you are one of those people who have been building your online business for a couple of weeks and wondering why you aren't making thousands of dollars, this is for you!

The reality is often very different compared to the dream of an online business, since financial freedom never happens over night. If you are looking for a quick fix to making money online, then you won't find it here. In fact, you won't find it anywhere! Its far, quicker to make money online using a proven training system like Wealthy Affiliate, rather than jumping from one get rich quick scheme to the next. I know from experience and I've seen others doing it too. All the hype and online scams that claim you can make a thousand dollars per day are actually telling the truth. The problem is, you will never make a thousand dollars a day with them, because that always ensure that something is missing. Wealthy Affiliate on the other hand is very different. But there is a catch with Wealthy Affiliate that some people aren't prepared for... You need to put in the effort to get the rewards in return!

Top Tips For Transforming Your Dream Of An Online Business Into Reality

The Wealthy Affiliate training should always be your focus when you start your online business. The community here is amazing and it holds the answers to everything that you need to know when it comes to building a successful online business. But the training here is completely pointless if you don't use it. Taking in the training and progressing with it, is essential for the evolution of your website. The only thing that you need to do is follow the instructions.

Keep moving forwards

Whilst its not a bad idea to look at other peoples websites for inspiration and ideas, looking at at other members sites can also lead you to think that your site will never be as good. Only the other I was asked how I had got my website to such a polished state. The person asking the question felt deflated as their website looked very basic in comparison. I told them that I had simply followed the training here at WA. That same person had only been working on that site for 2 weeks! Building a good website takes a little longer than a couple of weeks, building a successful online business takes time and effort. The key here is to move forward just one step at a time. So long as you are moving forward then you are getting closer to that dream! What other people are doing and the level that they are at is not important. What is important is where you are at and where you are going to be tomorrow and the day after that.

Have a way to earn money on your site

Now this might seem like a really obvious one, but stay with me here... If you really want to make money online then you need a page that will make you that money on your website. Your content is the key to your success and in order to make the most money with your online business your sales funnel needs to shine. No matter what method you are using to monetize your website, you won't make a penny if the readers of your site can't find or don't see your offers. Having a tiny affiliate link or a small Amazon advert at the bottom of a page or hidden away in the footer isn't likely to bring you much revenue. One thing that I have found to work the best when it comes to directing people to offers or affiliate links is to be VERY obvious. Don't just assume that a reader will click an affiliate link. Give them the reasons and benefits that then NEED to click that think.

Stay active if you want to make it online

Here's the part where some people get a little frustrated with their online business. The key to creating a successful online business is to post regular content on your website around your chosen niche. This alone however is often not enough to get you high rankings and good traffic levels. As well as producing regular quality content you should also be active on at least two social networks in my opinion. To be honest, using social networks to promote the content that you just created doesn't take that long and it can be the difference between success and failure. Building up a following within social websites is a great way to build both your audience, traffic levels and also helps with your search engine rankings too.

Never Quit!

At some point its quite normal to feel like you want to quit. Making money online is very different to making money in a conventional job. You will spend many hours working on your online business and will get nothing in return. It can be really hard, especially in the beginning when you don't get any thanks or money for the work you have put in. But a good way to keep on track is to look at the progress that you have made. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was any successful online business. Celebrate even the tiny accomplishments that you achieve and keep on looking forward. Ask any successful business owner in Wealthy Affiliate if they had ever thought about quitting and I bet every one of them will say that they did at some point. Don't do it!

The dream of an online business can be very different from the reality, especially in the beginning. Believe me when I say that you have everything you need right here in Wealthy Affiliate to make it happen. But you need to remain active and stay focused on progression if you want to make it. Keep on building traffic, find more followers on social networks, try new things to tempt people to click your affiliate links. But most of all, always ensure that you are HELPING people with your online business or solving a problem that they have. You always need to give something online in order to receive in return.
