Two Worlds Collide!
Hiya --
I've been off the radar here for the past few weeks, as I started building another website for my marketing and web design business, but also because I picked up a pretty big law firm client, and have been hired as a consultant to write their marketing plan and then implement it. If all goes well, I will be on retainer, which will go a long way in helping my ailing financial situation.
I am still working full time, so the prospect of working on this in the evenings is exhausting to me and I haven't even started yet. I got to thinking about WA, and how hard I have worked to get my site up and running, yet somehow making any real money continues to elude me. I know its mostly because I just don't have enough time to devote, and still be able to pay my bills.
In other words, I can't take time away from running my web design biz to run my blog, because I will lose the opportunity to generate new business inquiries. I started getting upset and thinking that I wasted my time here, that I didn't fulfill what so many of you here have accomplished, and that I will just let it all go.
BUT. In my research this morning about putting that marketing plan together, I came across a paragraph in an article written by a pretty well-respected thought leader in my industry, and here it is:
"Your website is your single most important brand development tool. It is the place where all your audiences turn to learn what you do, how you do it and who your clients are. Prospective clients are not likely to choose your firm based on your website alone. But they may well rule you out if your site sends the wrong message. Further, your website will be home to your valuable content. That content will become the focus of your search engine optimization (SEO) efforts so that your prospects, potential employees and referral sources can find you and learn about your firm. Online content is central to any modern brand building strategy."
Right then my worlds came together, and I realized, in that split second, that everything I have learned here will help me put this plan together, and that everything this article says, I already knew! So the reality is that Wealthy Affiliate not only trains us how to build our sites, but also WHY, and why content marketing is the way to go, whether we are affiliates or not.
Here I am, applying all this knowledge to a law firm...! Everything I learned here and it all came full circle for me. I am so grateful.

Also, if you haven't already, you should really take a look at Jay's training on services for local businesses. He LAYS OUT how the skills we learn here can be applied for local business clients.
Yes. marketing tactics and pricing is included. You might want to binge on that. It's like 5 hours or so of live training. It's REALLY good.
Glad to hear it's all coming together for you. In previous posts, I could hear how discouraged you were getting: between the financial situation, the things your son was saying, and the bills piling up, things were getting stressful. Believe me. I understand how that can be. It takes alot to continue to build your momentum when the odds seem to be against you. It's great to hear you keep going and doors are opening for you. Keep it up!
Wow you remember my other posts...?!!! I’m flattered and thank you for the kind words. Another lesson learned for me. This community really cares for one another...! (But I knew that)...
All the best...
I do care and I've seen others who are sincere also. I could feel your pain but I'm glad it's lifting. Keep putting your best foot forward and believe the obstacles are making you stronger and better. You're getting more resilient. I can tell.
At least you now know WA isn't a scam. The knowledge we gain here is going to help in many walks of life.

Well I always knew that it’s not a scam — I just didn’t realize the far-reaching implications of this training....!
Glad you made the connections. We forget that we are learning marketing skills here and these skills can be applied to any product, service or brand. Affiliate marketing just allows us to learn without offering services. But there is a lot of money to be made on services. Companies will always need help with skills they don’t have. Good luck with your newest adventure!
What a revelation! It has all come full circle back to you, as you said.
Please make sure you take some time out for you in your busy life, Amy.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Thank you ... take time out for me...? Huh...?! :-) I know what you mean...but difficult sometimes.
