Watch out for this type of scam junk e-mail
Hello everyone,
I recently (March 15) acquired a new domain through WA called mydreamhomeoffice.com and set up the basic site using a highly-rated WordPress theme that's one of the choices in WA. Today, I found this e-mail in my Junk folder. People with some experience in WA or domain-buying in general would probably realize it's a scam, as I did, though seeing the subject line was a bit alarming at first glance. But I wanted to post this as a warning for newbies who may be confused. This is a "cut and paste" of the e-mail text (I've italicized it to set it apart from my own text), with spaces between lines removed for compactness:

My gut feeling is to NOT click on the "Unsubscribe here" link. I used to work at a job where our office received junk faxes. At the bottom there would be a fax or phone number to use if you wanted to unsubscribe. My supervisor told me that the "unsubscribe" numbers were part of the scam -- anyone who responded would in effect be telling the junk fax sender that they are a real office, which would open them up to receiving more and more junk faxes, from this sender and probably others, because they could very well sell your office fax number.
Have a good rest of the weekend!
Amanda

Yeah, I get those frequently even for domain names which I've let expire. And I never unsubscribe to any email unless I did actually subscribe to them in the first place. Unscrupulous companies/individuals sell the email addresses of people who have unsubscribed because they know it's an actual email address.

Yes I just received an email today about the WA domain that I only purchased here a few days ago!
Hi Jim, those scammers are a busy lot. WA members can ask the community about e-mails like this; I feel sorry for newbies who have no one to ask. Amanda
