Overcoming jealousy has its rewards

This past week I've seen a number of posts declaring that someone had just achieved their first-ever sale. It's wonderful to hear these proclamations and know that the process works.
Overcoming a natural reaction
At the same time, I'll admit that I read some of those posts with a tinge of jealousy because I had been here in WA for 5 months and hadn't yet had my first sale. It was especially tough to read about those who felt very frustrated, having been in WA for just 3 months, before they finally got that first sale.
Each time I've had those feelings, however, I have dug in harder, reminding myself what I've said to numerous others - that each person's journey is different and that we just need to keep going.
My direction of late

Well, over the past couple weeks I've been working on my site to clean up issues that were listed on a recent site review. One of the key issues was that I had not tied my site's general content to my product reviews very well. I wasn't leading visitors to a solution.
In addition, though my site has started ranking quite well, I knew I needed to continue to develop more content. Specifically, I needed a post or two related to end-of-the-year specials for my affiliate programs.
I have been rewarded
So, I went in to each affiliate program to gather the latest banners/links and, to my surprise, there it was - my first sale. I discovered that the sale actually took place more than two weeks ago. Not only had the individual purchased a couple products that I had reviewed but they also purchased a number of other items, all from Amazon.
As everyone who has hit that first sale knows, it really feels good. I had been with WA a little more than 4 months when the sale took place.
A reminder
So, for those of you who are feeling down, especially if you've hit the 3-month mark and haven't had that first sale, stay the course!
Don't give up. Keep going. Your time might be this week or next week or another month but it will come.
This process works!
