What is my Handicap?

Why is it that most of, at one time or another, became aware of what is holding us back, but are not able to fix the issues completely? I realized that most of the limiting beliefs that I have are not in fact true; that was something passed down from my older generation. After reading on the subjects, I became aware that I could actually change those old habits by instilling new habits.

The funny thing is that even though am aware of what is happening on certain instances, the fear is still there, the rapid palpitations are still there, the sweaty palms are still there, and I wonder why? I have done all that I have read about on the issue; I have put myself on those type of situation more than I like, trying to get used to them; I have learned to breath in a certain way to calm down and even meditate before going into those events, to no avail.

The issues such as, what are THEY going to think, or I am not going to do it so I don't risk looking like a fool, or they can do that, because they are better than me; limiting beliefs of that nature. I know in my heart I am as capable as anyone else, but the feelings are very hard to control.

I will surely say, am not the only one out there with those type of emotions, and I wish that I could find a remedy to pass it on to others. I have met some folks that are truly able to get ahead, but because they beleive they cannot, they are stuck in the rut.

Sadly, I am one of those people that Murphy;s law applies to them, "if it can go wrong, it will go wrong".

How do I fix this issue?

Alicia,
Mr./Ms. Murphy used to be a lifelong resident in my head but I decided to start charging rent. After that, the Murphy family or resident decided they were not going to stick around.
The best advice I can give you is to make a plan and stick to it. It may take some time for those old habits to die and be replaced by the new ones but it will happen with perseverance. Best of luck to you on getting rid of the Murphy clan.

I love it!

As hard as it might seem, Alicia, I would do my best to adopt a positive attitude! You are on a platform which will painstakingly teach you how to get your business up and running with excellent training. The only ingredients you need to add are patience, perseverance, and beginning to write good quality content specific to your chosen niche early and often!

There is no true time table. Simply write a new blog post when and where you can and go each day continuing in this manner!

If you do, you will ultimately be a success!

Hi Alicia
As you probably know, our mindset reflects the sum total of our beliefs. The problem we have as humans is that we're not consciously aware of most of our beliefs (which are held in our subconscious minds). We become aware of their effect but often have no idea what specific belief, or collection of beliefs, is the cause.

Having said that, your statement that Murphy's law applies to you may well be a big clue!

Murphy's Law is no more than a belief.

Change that belief (or at the least, change the belief that it applies to you) and you'll probably notice a big difference over time.

A fact is that by default there are many more things that can go wrong towards any particular outcome than are needed for things to go right!

Success comes from focusing on (thinking about) those things that will go right and avoiding thinking about anything else. This takes practice. Deliberate practice.

I'm glad to see you're open to using meditation. You haven't said what your meditation practice is. There are various ways to practice meditation.

You would need to meditate in such a way as to be editing (changing) your own beliefs.
:-)

Thanks for the advice.

Find some one professional or otherwise to talk about your feelings, I have spent along
time in therapy and have solved most of the issues you are talking about

Talking to someone who will listen and not give advice

The fact that you have begun to recognise these feeling is the very first but important step
