Using Labels To Organize Your Inbox Very Handy
One of the things that seem to come with the territory and walk hand in hand with affiliate marketing is that we will see an explosion of emails in our inboxes, one of the best bits of advice I received starting out was;
" Manage your inbox or it will end up managing you ".
It is easy to be guilty of not doing that, until we figure out ways to manage the inflow that is. The use of labels is one of the best ways to manage that flow, by organizing emails into groups of associated emails. I have gravitated to Gmail, which is my mainstay.
The How To Do
It is quite simple to set up and once in place is a real productivity booster.
1, Go to your inbox go to settings.from the drop down menu select settings.
2, On the top menu, go to labels.
3, click on " create new label ".
4, Click " Create new label ":
5, there will be a pop-up fill in the details.
6, then click " Create ".
You will be good to go, so the incoming emails will be filed under the appropriate label. Which will appear on the lower left-hand side of your inbox when you visit, simply click on the label to access the associated emails.
I have found it really useful, especially when accessing emails on the go no more scrolling to find that email, just go to the label and they are all there, sometimes it may take a few goes to get your inbox to follow along but I have found that it is pretty intuitive.
It is possible to create email labels for any of your incoming emails and as many labels as you need to sort your emails into a manageable list.
Once created you can by clicking on the little arrow beside the label, give it definition by adding a color to the label and also it is possible to create a sub-label, which can be nested under the main label.
Main label................. WA
Sub label.....................WA " New Blog Posts "
It has worked a treat,
Check it out, I am sure that other providers will have a similar feature.
Hope this helps.

Hi Alex. This sounds very useful. Are you able to use labels and also have all of your new messages appear on screen at one time?
Hi Sondra good point, not sure about that one, if I bring up a label them you see all the associated emails, I usually open another tab for the inbox as well so you can see both kind of at the same time. I guess you could split screen both on the same tab. Going to play around with that one.
Thanks for showing me a new trick. I had just been using the labels that are standard.

Awesome Sami, glad you found it useful, you can alter the categories as well the option to do that is just up above the labels settings.
Very handy! I am using Yahoo but have gmail, I may try a flip over at a convenient moment!
Thanks Alex

Hi Alex,
I use Gmail too. I would not easily go back to using other email type interfaces.
Having worked in the Corporate world for a long time, I found working with labels challenging at first as I was so used to using folders.
Once I got the hang of it though I did become a little too "label happy" and had far too many.
These days I have a lot less but I am far more skilled at using the search function so most times I can find what I'm looking for with ease.

Classic Mark, I like that one " label happy", I can see that Benning a trap, thanks for sharing. The key is managing the inflow of information as to get the most out of it, looks like you have good systems in place.
Common sense advice!
I like sorting with gmail’s inbox app, but I’m reacquainting myself with Outlook for all the hidden features I’ve been hopelessly ignoring for so many years. It took a professional development course to test drive these! Shameful. : O
Hi, Ivy that inbox can serve us very well or it can be the bain of our lives. Classic, we are all searching and sometimes it is good to revisit. best wishes as you get into re-exploring outlook.
Yes, it is a must, otherwise, the inbox would be a total mess.
So the tip comes right in place.
