The Lab Poodle that's off its Noodle and Affiliate Marketing

A situation that could be unfolding in a neighborhood near you.

There is a new arrival its Bella, the miniature Lab Poodle ( Labradoodle ); like all dogs, each has its own personality that can have good and bad traits. Bella was no exception. When the mom of the house is about Bella, is on her " bestest " butter wouldn't melt in her mouth behavior.

It's when dad and the kids are home alone that Bella's princess side comes to the fore. Yap yap yap all day long, it has been rumored that she will even bark at her own shadow, one of an arsenal of frustrating behaviors used to assert control over the other inhabitants of this peaceful suburban fort.

The kids battle cry, " whatever you do, don't tell Bella to come here, because she thinks it means, runaway."

As a member of the driveway, " catch Bella posse," I can attest to that. Bella has this habit of staying just out of arm's length, and as luck has it, a game quite happily played all day long, or in her mind until she grows tired of it.

Mom of the house returns along with the order.

For dad and the kids, what to do with that Lab Poodle that's off its noodle. Hastily organized family group conferences yielded a vast array of solutions, of which none were really that workable.

Putting her up for adoption when mum's away, one such idea that, while having merit, would cause more problems for dad than it would solve.

So what does a household under siege do?

Go online and look for solutions for their problems.

How to stop, how to train, how to.....

The list goes on, and Google will deliver a million solutions in 5 seconds, there are only ever 10 that we see and only ever 10 that get a look in.

Some members of this family had issues.

In the land of click, there is always a solution, and a solution was found in the form of a digital course that presented only $37 and an instant download too easy.

As we all know, sitting inside the digital castle walls, that is only the starting line. Will they follow through. The frustration levels tend to suggest so, some breakthroughs have been made already.

We are all part of a big tribe. We have a problem; we want information; we want products and services to solve our issues and problems, me and you, like billions of others, go online and ask for solutions.

It's not rocket science, although I am sure if one wanted to build a rocket ship, all the information would be there at the click of a mouse.

The corner is turned and some reflections.

For this family, sanity is returning, and Bella, the Lab Poodle, is becoming a really cool and well established and loved part of the team.

The thing that got me is that they had a problem; they found a solution, brought a product, followed through, and made change possible. Online, this is a process that happens a phenomenal amount of times a day.

If you scratch the surface, someone created that product, someone reviewed that product, someone else promoted that product along with providing solutions, and those involved in the process we're making money. It could be the same person or many.

From observation, a straightforward process.

It can be easy to overthink it and build in complexities where and when there needs to be none. The basics done well will bring results in any universe.

A sidestep.

All week I have been stalking this massive trout and thrown everything at it, in the process becoming a very good customer at the local tackle shop, with no results. This kid turns up with his little fishing rod, a hook, a sinker, and a bug he found on the trees above this pool where the big fish were, he casts his line in the water, sits, and waits, and boom, the job is done.

We can always draw parallels online, especially when we break it down; simple can work best. One of my lead-ins is to ask that simple question.

Am I overthinking/complicating this?

If the answer is no, full speed ahead; if the answer is yes, then back to the drawing board for a reshaping, refocus.

I am finding that doing this saves so much time and is a constant productivity boost. A simple question and simple self-honest answer will always work a treat.

Thank you.

Such a gorgeous little dog, Alex. She looks as though butter wouldn't melt in her mouth. She is so cute and lovely.

I had to say that because I just absolutely love dogs. It's not their fault they're the way they are! They do their best to make us understand...lol !!

Thanks for a fantastic post. How smart that young fisherman is!

There's much to be learned from what you've given us here.

Best wishes,

Valerie

Hi Valerie, good to see you and I hope that your year goes well.

We can learn so much from our interactions with our world.

So true dogs give so much and expect so little other than to be part of our tribe.

Best wishes.

Alex

Thanks Alex.

I used to overthink things, and someone used to tell me not to. Over the years I have come to appreciate the simplicity of being simple - it's much more easier to see things clearly.

Your dog story sounds like the dog story in my house. The puppy was adorable but then learned how to have everyone do what she wants and at some point discipline had to be reined in to have peace in the house. There was the journey to go online to find solutions and a bit of getting a dog trainer.

You are an amazing writer Alex - thanks for a good read.

Fify

Hi Fify, it is good to meet you and thank you for sharing. So true I think that we all go through periods where we can tend to overthink things.

Getting that under control can take time, it can cause issues so it is well worth the effort.

You will be well pleased you have your team member towing the party line. Makes for a happy house hold.

Thank you for your kind words.

Alex

Excellent as always Alex, thank you. It's interesting to note (at least in my head) to think that we are taught this from a very early age. For me, I remember it as 'NED', numerator over denominator and subsequently, simplifying to find the lowest common denominator.
I guess that as we add layers through time, everything becomes more complicated as a matter of course. It's up to us to remind ourselves that not everything in life has to be complicated.

Well said Twack, as we travel through life we do collect more and more responsibilities it seems to be part of the natural order.

Complex and busy lives are the order of the day.

As marketers traction can be created by presenting a clear and consistent message.

I really like the NED explanation into my tool box with that one.

Thank you.

Alex

You are very welcome.
Have to thank one of the primary school teachers for that, funny how some things just stick.

Hi Alex
At 8 years old I figured that since I preferred cheese to maggots and worms, perhaps chub did too. So I baited the hook with a chunk of cheese sandwich from my lunch. A 4.5-pound chub fell for the ruse, It took me about 20 mins to land on my trusty 6-foot rod and won the cup for biggest fish of the day.

We don’t half complicate things sometimes.
:-)
Richard

Classic, Richard, I am making a cheese sandwich as we speak.

So true we can complicate things and it can make the journey way harder than it needs to be.

Thank you for sharing your fishing yarn we can draw much from it.

Alex

Looks like you have it under control Alex!
Joe
