Sometimes You Can Trip Your Self Up
The news was running in the background and midstream there was some advertising, I have been chasing a domain name for some time, did I hear right, a combination of keywords that suited down to the ground. The advertisement finished broadcasting the.com.
Did I hear right could it possibly be, I wonder if they have, they must have, surely that is closed out.
Enter Jaaxy, stage right,
- Alphabet soup,
- Keyword search
- Search analysis.
Bingo they haven't, a big player in this neck of the woods has left the gate open
I have a little system with more than a couple of tabs open, top of the pops is,
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/domains
What seemed like seconds later I am the proud owner of a new domain.
Back to Jaaxy for another look-see.
Bingo another one,
" uh oh chungo" I have the realization that I have misspelled the original domain name, by the time that I have realized, the one that I wanted was gone.
The boy made a mistake.
I broke one of my golden rules since coming to the online world,
" never panic, take your time always and always read what is on the screen and double check it before you click."
I guess that I got carried away at the moment, overexcited in finding that domain that I had been chasing.
Or as good old aunt Marg used to say.
" counting your chickens before they hatch."
It can be easy to make the odd mistake, on reflection, I more than made up for it by claiming number two, it can, however, be frustrating. The thing is all is not lost I can make good on that mistake moving forward, learn from everything we do, both the good and the not so good.
Lesson learned or should I say reinforced.
A steady hand on the rudder steers a true course.

Classic Marcus I really like that one, some days that auto correct button would be permanently pressed. Just goes to show being busy and going fast doesn't always pay dividends. Thank you for stopping by.
Classic Heman, easily done, I really like that workaround and redirect, a really good way to create a return.
Nothing like a sharp wake-up call is there? Sorry about your experience, but thanks for the share, Good warning for us all.
Sami
Hi Sami, definitely a reminder, a slight hiccup which has been corrected, the thing is we all make mistakes, the key is to take them in our stride and move on.
Hi, Wayne, not a big deal but a subtle reminder to watch what I am doing, focus is a good thing. Some folks get a bit despondent when they do make mistakes, we are all in the same camp, it happens from time to time.
Lol Alex, I don’t know how many times I have clicked and then realized I made an error. It does happen. Fortunately for you there was an alternative close enough to the first.
Hi Harvey, it is something that comes with the territory, it can usually be easily rectified, working with purpose and taking our time can be really helpful, thank you for stopping by.
But it usually takes so long. It's like waiting for my wife. lol
(She has Spanish heritage and is on a different time clock than the rest of us.)
Question. Are you in the GoGetters' group. If so, what are you doing on the mastermind group idea?
Lol
Yesterday, I drove 120 miles from the airport and I realised a few things:
1. I realised I still can’t sing
2. The songs playing on the radio were songs I was listening to 35 to 40 years ago
3. I still haven’t learned the lyrics to the same song for all these years!
So, what the hell did I learn in all those years. I made the lyrics up 40 years ago and I sang the same made up lyrics yesterday!
So did I learn from my mistakes or just perfect my mistakes over 40 years?
Wayne
Magnus Magnuson mastermind? No not on go getters, I’m in the jet laggers corner at the moment!
Happy masterminding!
Wayne
Hi Steve, That is so true, hopefully, we do, becoming aware can be part of the journey, making good on the knowledge and experiences is the part that can take us far. thanks for adding to the conversation.
Hi Wayne, that is interesting, there is that saying " if we do the same things over and over again expecting different outcomes, it is not going to happen we end up getting the same results ". I guess that hopefully, we do learn to change our perspectives and move on to better outcomes. thank you food for thought.
it's called the definition of insanity (do the same things over and over again expecting different outcomes)
so, a lot of us are very insane
The important thing is that you realized the mistake and did the necessary corrective actions. Bravo!
Hi Bosco, good to see you how is your journey going, long time member here at WA.
So true it is not about the things that may not go according to plan, it is what we do to arrest or fix those things. thank you for your kind words.
Hi Alex, laid off for a while. Got into some knots on the personal life side. Trying to get back to the drawing board and do what others at WA have proven can be done.
Hi Bosco, easily done, we are all so busy and many of us lead such busy lives before we even came to the online marketing world I am pleased that you have made some progress and are taking another look at the opportunities.
So true many folks are making life-changing progress.
Best wishes as you reconnect to your journey.
I hate to hear you missed out, I am sure it was disappointing. When I make mistakes like that I tend to beat myself up over them as I am my worst critic.
Hi Dena, it was not disappointing, as the outcomes are very good. The thing is that we all make mistakes and at the end of the day it is how we handle them and what we do to correct or gain something from them.
The key is to move forward and not to be hard on our selves, the thing here is to slow things down, I think there is that saying a bull in a china shop.
Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts.
That is so funny! My mom has always told me not to be a bull in a china shop. Sounds like I need to listen to her warnings.
Classic some of those sayings have such good merit, they kind of paint that visual picture, we all need a little of that, your mom gave you some wisdom.
