Empowering Your Why

Just had the pleasant experience of meeting a little one going through that " but why phase ". You may know the one, but why are they doing that, because they are doing it to...............but why did they do that and so it goes, a never-ending;

But why.....................................?....... because..............................!

That thirst for knowledge and understanding is something that seems to be hard-wired into kids, as they grow and develop every experience is new and exciting, it can be something that we lose as we grow and become adults and in time settle into living in our comfort zones.

So how do we rekindle the explorer's mind, short answer become a member of Wealthy Affiliate, one sure way to tip you out of your " comfort zone hammock ".

How to empower your why and supercharge your results!

For a lot of folks, it is all about finding your "why" in the first place, in this fast-paced industry it is so easy to lose focus even before you actually find it.

We often think that we have found our "why", well we are here or there doing stuff so we must have found our "why", the reason and meaning to what we are doing, this stage can be superficial and non-sustaining for a long haul. The tendency is to give up walk away when we don't see results or the going gets hard.

"Your why is like your shadow it follows you everywhere, it is just that sometimes we don't see it or get it ".

The simplest way to re-discover or reinvigorate your why, is to transition your reason from your thinking head to your heart, in other words, you have to feel it.

Some folks refer to it as your gut instinct, that inner strength and solid quietness, those still deep waters. Once you can feel your why you are there, like the arrow that hits the bulls eye every time.

The passion zone.

Start by asking your self a simple question;

Why am I doing this or why do I want to do this, the two go hand in hand.

Why am I promoting this or why do I want to promote this program/product/or software.

Your answer first up, will be one of those scratch the surface answers, most probably not the real answer.

  • The key is to ask your self the question and ask your self and why else am I doing this?
  • Then go a little wider and ask again why else am I doing this?
  • Then go wider, as you do the layers will be peeled away and your why will start to emerge.

What we are looking for is the real reason, by asking and going wider and being honest with ourselves we can define the real reason.

This process can be described as going wide and going deep.

Into the Deep.

Once you have established your why and you will know that you have because you will feel it, maybe for the first time in a long time but you will just know it because it will feel as though it is part of you.

The next thing is to drill down and go deep,

one of the easiest ways to do that is to start articulating your why, finding the words to describe it will give you the ability to make it actionable. Long story short it will give you;

Focus.

Just like everything in business and life nothing happens in straight lines, at times we need to take detours, climb over obstacles and at times sit and figure out the best course of action. The thing is that if we are that reason firmly held on the inside that process becomes that much easier. A lot of the actions that we need to take and implement are associated with our why, it never sleeps but stays with us at all times. This kind of works for everything.

Let's say social media, for example, I see a lot of folks bagging this or that platform, and just as many folks agreeing. Sometime it is because we haven't found our why as yet. If we have then we can articulate exactly why we are involved or not if that makes sense.

Sometimes one of the best ways to move forward is to step back spend some time reflecting, stopping the bus and jumping off can be a real chance to re-assess what you are doing and to help develop a clearer perspective.

In reassessing and reviewing we can reinforce what we are doing or make newer and in most cases better decisions. Nothing beats that feeling that you are on the right track to achieving the outcomes that are closely related to your why.

The solutions lay in the how, knowing why we are doing something is the big part of it, the actionable part of it is working out the how.

What and how are very good friends.

They cover a multitude of situations, by asking the questions around what and how we can start to develop a really good mindset, around what we are going to do and how are we are going to get things done, keep those two on our radars at all times it can pay real dividends.

I have been really stumped, like really stumped, usually, I can nut things out, sometimes it can take time sometimes it can be just be too deep and too wide, putting it mildly, I found this approach very helpful. Nothing like getting back on track.

Sometimes it can be so beneficial to revisit your why, the thing is that it can change as we move along so don't forget to add some flexibility into your plans dreams and schemes.

Thanks for reading and I hope that you find something of use in this post.

Enjoy the day

Alex

We need WHY , to stay in our conscious to create a good mindset to all stay focus and approach what it means to stay positive and keep moving forward towards our goals.

That is such a good way to describe it, Darryl, thanks for the insight. mindset can be that thing that carries across the line, even when folks around us are falling by the way side.

For me, the Why is always the thing that determines whether I'm a success at something or not because it's the true motivation. If I don't have a good enough reason in my mind about why I'm doing something, I tend to get distracted and not finish well. But when the reason is clear and I'm passionate about it, my focus can be crystal clear and nothing can distract me away.

Well said Janelle, I really like how you have expressed that. it is so easy to get sidetracked on this online journey, if we focus on why we have started or why we want to achieve the goals we have set like you say it is much w]easier to stay the distance.
Thank you for sharing your insights.

Great post very informative and very interesting something we all need to think about is why.

Hi, Mary thank you for reading and sharing your thoughts. It can be something that helps us to focus as well as sustain us as we move forward.
As we travel along our why will change as we grow and develop new skills.

Yes all it can do is improve our skill as we grow and develop. Makes up a better person in everything we do. Blessings and God be with you in all your endeavors through life.

Thank you for your kind wishes Mary and blessings to you. If we stop and look at our selves, we can find that there is plenty of room for improvement.

We all stand improvement from time to time. Your blog hit the nail on the head. About why that is the question all the time. You did a wonderful job on the blog.

Mary

I am working on skills right now I just wrote my blog 2 weeks in business. If you get the chance take a look at it.

Hi, Mary, I will do, really like your enthusiasm it will take you far.

Thank you so much for the compliment I really appreciate it so much

nice It was great way to look at the why

Hi Robert, pleased that you found some value in this post, hope that you are traveling well on your online journey.

How interesting, Alex. We posted about the same subject on the same day, just with a slightly different approach. Excellent post, Thanks. Love that idea of going wide and deep.

Classic you know what they say about great minds lol. I have just come through a bit of a tight spot, in this case, it was back to basics, the process really helped with finding some solutions.

Thank you for your kind words and I will have to check out your post.

The process in its self is an excellent way to develop an overview that encompasses the reasons that we do things but also the actions that we need or can take to achieve the goals that we have set for ourselves.

Thank you Alex for your wise post!

Knowing our Why makes us so much stronger and helps us to keep on track especially when we meet difficulties.

Yes, it's a good advice to think over your Why now and then. With time it can alter a bit.

Enjoy your day, you too.
:-)

Hi Pernilla good to seed you, that is a really valid point as our knowledge and skill set increases so does our why reflect that. We are constantly changing so do our online endeavors, our why reflects that as well. I guess our why is a living thing that never stays static. thank you for stopping by much appreciated.

Very insightful. I need to keep going through my why so that I do not get distracted. It needs to be deeply entrenched inside of me and then the creativity can flow out.

That is a good way of putting it Tania if our why becomes part of us, it becomes that little bit easier to fond our voices and express the message that we want to bring to our audiences.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, much appreciated.

Very well written.

Hi Jeff, thank you for your kind words and I hope that you got something from this post, best wishes.

We can only know what lies beyond the horizon if we answer the "why"

That is so true Taniela, thank you for sharing that insight, traveling out beyond the horizon is where all the good stuff happens all the best for your journey of discovery.

Thanks for share..

You are most welcome, Lar thank you for stopping by much appreciated.
