All-In-One SEO or Yoast SEO Plugin?

I have heard some members wondering if they should drop their All-In-One SEO plugin for Yoast SEO plugin.

When I read what Yoast SEO plugin can do for me, I did not hesitate to deactivate the All-In-One SEO plugin and install the Yoast SEO plugin.

Let's see some of the most important features:

POSTING

1. Readability and SEO

Look at the above image. Two things interest me here. When you write your content, either directly here or from SiteContent, Yoast SEO will tell you the Readability and the SEO of your content.

GREEN will be excellent

The second position is below:

The third position is bad and the Y sign will change to red.

So, at this level Yoast enables you to improve your content and SEO.

2. Keywords and Snippet

Yoast SEO plugin enables you to add a focus keyword as well as its synonyms. When you add the focus keyword the synonyms tab opens. You can get the synonyms from Jaaxy or "People Also Ask" (which you will find in the middle of the Google Search Results Page) when you do keyword research and also from "Searches related to... (down the same page)

Amazingly Yoast allows yu to add 4 related keywords and their synonyms. I will show you that in another image but just take another look at the above image at the snippet preview.

Google simple takes my sites's meta description and gives it as preview of every post. This is disastrous because it doesn't fit any of my post. But check below to see what Yoast allows me to do:

As you can see, I have put in the snippet I want Google to show on the result page for this post.

This is important because although Google may show people your page, the snippet preview is what gives them an idea of what the post is about and can really help your clickthrough rate (CTR).

3. Redirects

Let's see you had something like "Wealthy Affiliate Review 2019". It will not be good to keep this title next year, or when you update your post. Should the post title change, you can use Yoast to redirect from the old URL to the new, just as I have done below:

Let me know your thoughts about switching from All-In-One SEO to Yoast SEO and your experience with the Yoast plugin.

Thank you.

Akoli,

I decided to try Yoast and it seems to be going well. I do like it.

Not sure if I need to use the social setting or not. It seems that it is for when I would like to change the title/description/image from what it would automatically be. When would this be necessary?

Also, do you use the cornerstone option?

Thanks,
Jim

I've been thinking about switching to Yoast as well and would love to hear the answer to these questions as well!

Hi Jukkah,

I hadn't gotten any answers on this page about my Yoast questions. If it helps you, I just posted these questions and a couple more on Jay's profile (the webinar instructor) in case you wanted to see if I get a response on that.

Best,
Jim

I'm happy Yoast is working for you fine.

I use the social setting but I don't see it on my website. Maybe that's not it's function. You may send any questions to Yoast support. They do reply.

Yes, I use the cornerstone option all the time. It's extremely helpful.

When I create a pillar post (a long one with a lot of details and links), I mark it as a cornerstone post. You will find this feature at the bottom of the post page.

And anytime I make a post, the plugin automatically fetches post that they think I should link to.

Sometimes I link to all of their suggestions. Other times, I don't.

Internal linking is important for SEO and Google rankings.

I'm ready to help you further should you have other queries.

Cornerstone gives you more options than All-In-One. It seems there's a new plugin far better than Yoast. I must look for the name.

Sorry for not answering on time. I've been on and off and preoccupied by COVID-19.

Thank you.
Hope all is well

All is well. Thank you.

Akoli, this is a good post, where you highlight good information about Yoast.

AIO is the starting point for us with our blogs, but as we get better and progress then needs change and Yoast is good. I have both, but on two different sites and one great thing about Yoast, is that it makes you a better writer, because of the reasons you highlight in your post.

Yes, it's easier and it serves also as a reminder. Any time you go to your posts if something is wrong you see the red dot.

Absolutely

Hi Dave,
Thanks for appreciating my post.

I also feel that "AIO is the starting point for us at WA with our blogs, but as we get better and progress then needs change and Yoast is good."

Sure, Yoast makes you a better writer and helps you do a beter SEO with your post.

You absolutely do which leads to all sorts of things

I switched and I love it. It really helps and reminds you to tweak and adjust until it is right.

I agree with you totally on all the points you raised.

Thanks for commenting.

Yoast is a good plug in and has some great reviews.
However AIO SEO has proven to work too and if you do your posts as we are trained to do here then they will rank.
I use Elementor as my page builder and the snippet that Google show is what I want it to show by writing it in at the bottom.
Both plug-ins work very well

I haven't heard of Elementor till now. I will look it up. Thanks for mentioning it.

Its a bit of a learning curve my friend. If your current editor is working for you rather concentrate on creating content.
I've just spent a couple of weeks updating old posts into the Elementor version because I wanted my site to be consistent.
But I would not recommend that amount of duplicate work to someone who has a site as well populated as yours.
All the best

Thank you, my friend.

Looks like Yoast has a lot good comments under this post!
Will be checking it out! Thank you :)

Yes, please do.

Im using SmartCrawl, HummingBird & Smush. They do pretty much most the work. Yoast is great, but its limited features if free. -hazel

Aren't they too many SEO plugins?

U also love Yoast. The only thing that I'm careful of is the amount of keywords that Yoast tells you to use. Jim

Yeah, I've been wondering about that too. Can it be considered as keyword stuffing?

So, I use All In One on one site and Rank Math on the other.

I have to say, I like Rank Math a lot and may convert my one site to it.

I've never heard about Rank Math. I'm going to have a look at it.

It's relatively new but it's pretty cool.

I'm a huge lover of Yoast, it helped me to polish all of my content that I had written and now I use it when I am writing new content to check as I write.

Nothing changed when it was loaded.

Lily 😊

Exactly, Yoast helps you to improve your content and SEO.

Yes, nothing changed for me too when I switched plugins.

I assume that if I switched to Yoast and didn’t like it, that there will be no problems going back?

I don't know about that. What I can say is that I don't see how you can't like Yoast.
