Jimi did play a an early ‘70s Stratocaster, very much like the one in the title image, with the bullet truss rod and the extra large headstock.

Back in high school, I ordered an Olympic White Strat from Fender because it was the color of Jimi’s guitar.
It had to be shipped to the local music store because I wasn’t a Fender dealer.
It cost me 286 dollars, tax included.
The store owner let me take the guitar home and pay it off 30 dollars a month, cash, because he knew my dad.
Something like that would never happen today!
I still have that guitar!
