How to Rank in WA and Build Your Website at the Same Time?
Wealthy Affiliate is a truly "Pay it Forward" community!
There is among us a "pay it forward" mentality with every update, evolution and improvement here at WA. 2016 is going to be the "year of helping others"!
So, to improve your WA rank, you have to naturally engage with others, help others, ask questions when you need help. You have to be an active member within the community. Everything you do within Wealthy Affiliate is going to serve as a contribution to your rank and the more often you do it, the more you are going to see your rank climb.
To determine your WA rank, it counts not only how much you are contributing within Wealthy Affiliate, but how much you are helping others. There are 4 rank charts:
- Helper Rank Chart - How much you help and how timely it is within the community
- Creator Rank Chart - Do you blog, do you create discussions, do you create training
- Activity Rank Chart - How active are you within the community, do you leave comments, do you interact with new members
- Overall Member Rank Chart - Based on a combination of the above
All of these contribute to your rank inside of WA.
But to be an active member in the community it takes time, a lots of time! How about the lessons, the videos, the tutorials? They also take time and need work and dedication… With so much activity in WA do you have the time to take action and to keep moving in your own website, to write new pages, to go to next lesson… I know it is not easy and things can be a little overwhelming sometimes!
Take your time, don’t rush yourself, this is not a race!
Sometimes you have to take a break in your WA activities and to dedicate to your website, and sometimes you have to do the opposite! So, try to balance both activities and to do your best, because those two activities are complemental. Each one has a purpose and needs the other as a supplement! All the activity you have in WA is a important part of your training, it forces you to write, to engage, to help and get helped…, and you are going to need all these skills to have success in your online business!

Thanks for sharing. You're right, juggling everything takes a lot of time. Right now I'm on a "little" schedule, I log onto WA in the morning; kind of like going to school, for a little bit then work on my site.
I might change this to a daily thing once I'm comfortable with training etc. As in daily I mean....Monday contribute to WA, tuesday website....etc. etc.
It really helps to have a schedule.

I agree with this..
In the past a made the mistake of being so hooked on what my WA rank reading was I was neglecting the critical work which was building my content and concentrating on my website.
I still think it is important to be active in the community though and getting a higher rank is always nice, but lets not lose base with the other work that needs to be done.

Blogged about the distractions. You learn something new.... So you just got to see how it works in the real (web) world. Is it a loss of focus or a minor quest? Like games I think all contribute to you beating the boss in the end
