Categorizing Posts
Has any one of you tried having your posts in two categories?
If you do what's the effect in general to your website?
Thank you for your responses and help.

If your post covers more than one category then you need to enter all the categories that the post covers. For example, if you were giving some training on email marketing and list building then you could have the categories of email marketing, list building, education and training as you have information in all of those categories.
The categories are there to help your visitors find the posts they are interested in.

I have my posts in 4 categories, one of which is the rolling blog that they are all in. I like that my visitors have a way to find posts that relate more specifically to what they're looking for.
For me, I think it helps create a more positive navigation experience.

If you usually talk about the same topic there's no need to categorize. If you usually write about two or more different topics then do it
Thank you. I have posts that can be categorized into affiliate marketing or to a particular niche so I was thinking that can be of general and particular.
yes I do it all the time. Does not effect your website as such, but can make it easier for visitors to find related content and some post just fits into more than one category.
Just be careful not putting them in to many categories - I haves seen websites where a post is tagged with 10 categories and that makes it a lot less user-friendly

I almost always use more than one category :)
I will do too, Chrissies.
