The New Facebook Algorithm
Facebook constantly change their algorithm which they say is " To Provide A Better Experience For Their Users"
Recently Facebook made a big change which you may have heard about or seen discussed. They called this their "Meaningful Interactions" update to their algorithm.
In this update Facebook said they would in future prioritize posts that lead to conversations especially between friends and family.
Facebook was originally created to allow friends and family to interact in an online social portal so in a way they are going back to their roots. There are many views as to why they have made this big change but we won't get into those here.
Many online marketers feared this would again hit their organic reach and of course their audience size and push again towards pay per click advertising.
What can Brands and Online Marketers Do About This Update?
Below is a guide to working with this update to keep your posts appearing in the organic news-feeds of your followers.
- Write posts with the aim of connecting people
- Create content that naturally leads to interactions - meaningful interactions are what Facebook are looking for.
- Consider attaching a "Group" to your page - Facebook Groups generate interactions amongst your members and connect people from all over the world
Working to the above guidelines will mean your content falls into what Facebook are looking for with their new update and therefore keep you in front of your audience.
When Social Media companies like Facebook make big changes that will affect all our previous hard work and effort we can either "Give Up" or find a way to work within the system to remain consistently in front of our followers and potential followers/customers.
My advice..."NEVER GIVE UP"

Great info here. However despite the changes my timeline is still more orientated towards business groups and Ads than my actual friends.

Just like any other business, a person has to adapt!
Like Google and Amazon we have to find a way they approve of or like you say “GIVE UP’ - well NOT YET1
