Podcast today was talking about OpenAI and Apple to close a deal to have OpenAI’s GPT-40 technology be the default on the next generation of IPhone software.
Well, it goes on to say that they’re no longer just proposing new apps but proposing a new way of using the internet itself. One quote was “ Could there be a chance that Google’s own invention convinces us to stop Googling stuff at all?”
It worries me, cause I’m just learning SEO and keyword research. Trying my best to build a brand and hoping there is still a chance I can be successful in this online venture.
I shall continue my path... I'd worry less about the future :) But certainly, keep being knowledgeable.
On another note, OpenAI said they aren't rolling out a Google Competitor (search)...yet. There was false news that was indicating that was supposed to happen on Monday (a few days back), but didn't happen.
We are currently testing the new GPT-40 model, and will likely be rolling it into the Author platform and other areas of WA when it is ready.
Yes, I read that too.
Google shifting its core business to be more AI generated and less reliant on blogs and websites scares a newbie like me.
That was only anticipated, Apple doesn't have this tech nor do they want to develop it. They can leverage OpenAI's focus on this technology, and utilize the power with their search, and with Siri.

Got notified that I had more than one SEO plugin
I use Yoast, because its easy to use and it keeps track of my keywords, and it is easy to ad your alt description. Other than that I don't even really use it, as a plugin doesn't make you rank or help you out with anything else.
I have started a new website in Dutch, and now I don't even use an SEO plugin , (or a keyword tool, nothing like that), I just look up whats popular in my niche ( more on Bing these days than Google and on social media) , and write about it. that's all. Basically nowadays, you don't need those tools.
Please focus on entertaining content and expand with social media.
Lizzy
I appreciate your different perspectives on this Lizzy. I’m new to all of this so I’m trying my best to learn as much as I can. Thank you, Steve
Thanks to all for the quick responses. This is my first time using WordPress so I’m trying to learn how to use it properly. 🤓
You can use any SEO plugin that resonates with you; however, WA recommends using the SEO framework as it is less bloated.
Please keep in mind that an SEO plugin is just a plugin; your choice of good keywords and compelling content determines your ranking in the search engines.
I personally just stick with the SEO framework. Haven't had any issues as Phil stated, they both do the same thing pretty much.
John.
Pick one at random. All SEO plugins do the same thing. Which, besides creating and maintaining sitemap.xml and allowing you to add stuff like the noindex tag, is just informing you about trivia like the size of your post's description.
I see a lot of members agonizing over which SEO plugin to use. They are simply not that important. Use the time to focus on creating good content.
Use caution adding plugins, they could slow down your site speed or conflict with the useful ones you already have installed.
Only add plugins that you need to accomplish a specific task.
Wait until you need to do a specific thing and then search for a plugin to do it. Pay attention to what other users say about it.
As long as they're clean-coded, you're good to go... However, I would add what I'd really be using.

Should we be using the seo framework or is yoast seo better?

I’m all over the place with my work and trying to rein it in and get more productive with my content writing.
Here's a short training from Kyle I found helpful: Accelerating Your Content Schedule Here's a training series on content creation from my favorite WA trainer, Jay: Content Creation Here's a post I wrote for my website about how I do content creation:

I hope these help!

I second Nancy's suggestion on Canva. So many features available to meet your business and organization needs.
I just started exploring Canva for this. They have a whiteboard section, https://www.canva.com/online-whiteboard, with quite a few free templates, including a template called Project Timeline, which I plan to check out. It looks promising.

Any suggestions on a daily planner to be more productive?

Need this so that I can start submitting my articles to be indexed
I already had a sitemap in place from my first website, outside of WA, on GSC but I thought it was exclusively for that site. Didn’t know it was a “universal” thing. Lol
Hi Steve
You can get your sitemap from your SEO plugin or just type:
"your domain"/sitemap.xml
in your browser.

YT video talks about more and more people using ChatGPT to ask questions instead using Google. Then, Google coming out w Search Generative Experience
A quote from my friend Edd Dawson: “AI is all fine and good for mundane things, but I think already we are seeing that humans value human output a lot more than AI when it comes to creativity.”
I strongly agree with this statement. I always look at things through a prism of music, cause I’m a musician. There’s always copies out there but nothing can replace the original. Hey, I should blog about this. lol
Hmmm.... I honestly haven't used ChatGPT to ask questions other than help with writing some articles, not for search.
Thanks for the thought producing question.
Have a Great Day!
-Chuck
But do you think this will negatively affect blogging in the future? What are your thoughts Abie?
There are always two sides, but I cannot trust it; I still have to cross-reference findings. It lists citations, so your website could be used as a reference, and the same goes for Co-pilot or Bing.
I see Frank's notes; it depends to a degree on the user... For example, I do extensive searching to know what it is. However, this may not be the case for some folks in a hurry or do not have much experience.
You cannot control who reads what or where, but you can provide as much helpful content as you can within your means to help people make informed decisions.
Hi Steve
I’ve been enrolled in Google SGE since the beta release. It’s an awesome implementation and every bit as good as the Bing AI generated search results.
People will have the option of an AI search intent synopsis or reading more long form content. 😎
Frank 🎸
Hi Steve
I believe it will have a negative effect, but it’s challenging to predict the magnitude.
Those seeking a quick answer may look no further.
The strategy may be to target super longtail key words that are not addressed by SGE and write pillar posts for more competitive keywords.
My guess is that the biggest opportunities will be in PPC advertising and video.
Frank 🎸
People love video, Steve, long and short form content!
I believe that AI will eventually affect video ranking in a similar way it’s affecting blog search results.
Will shall see.
Frank 🎸
We have to understand where the opportunity is and adjust our marketing strategy to stay successful. 😎
