Sometimes our legs keep moving even after we put our feet up. Or fall over… our bodies just keep on moving it. That is the habit of success.

( This is a laneway behind our house, not much room for a garden. So the streets ( Đường and hems) become the gardens and playing grounds for the kids. I sometimes play “ football with the local kids and invariably lose, lol.

So today has been a stressy one and l just wanted to mentally put my feet up and share a few images of my life in Vietnam.

The things that make a dull day ring.

( Coffee shops are everywhere, at least 3 or 4 on just about every street and free wi-fi in every one., motorcycles are parked on the footpath everywhere. Footpaths are for chairs tables motorcycles and cars, they are not for walking on . lol.)

Today I just want to share a bit of my life.

Personal space is valued but be prepared for a motorcycle to be traveling at 50 k per hour 15 cm away from you.

Your motorcycle skills will become the best in the world.

Vietnam can leave you stretched very thin sometimes.

You will find Pagodas tucked away everywhere and the sounds of chanting monks can be heard at all hours of the day and night. The rhythms of the chanting are mesmerizing and are meant to be good for spiritual and physical aspects of our body and life.

Land is expensive for Vietnamese and most people and businesses will build from edge to edge on their property and go high. 8 meters and 15 meters are the normal width with variations on the depth up to 24-30 meters the norm. We don’t waste a centimeter.

Halong bay is one of the first places I recommend to destress. I booked a room on a junk a few years ago and the whole room was Jade. I couldn’t figure out how to put 2009 kilos of it into my luggage though.

This is from another pagoda 2 minutes from my house. This is about 20 feet long and always makes me feel relaxed.

Tthis is Ngoc, my wonderful daughter in law who is here washing “ Chi” our less than wonderful dog, lol.
