Do you follow Google trends. This free service from Google will show you what is trending at the moment.
As you can see salads are trending at the moment and I will probably write something about this under my diet section on my lazy athletes site.
It only takes a minute a day to browse and may get you a few extra readers for your website.
Below is what you get on a weekly basis.
1. Salads spike every July in the U.S. and is currently at a record high this month
- Salad cream spiked +900% over the past week to reach an all time high
- “salad cream vs mayo” and “salad cream vs ranch” were breakout searches

- “shelley duvall movies” was the top trending “movies” search the day of Duvall’s passing

3. “aura points” are currently at an all time high
- “how to get aura points” was a breakout search and “how to explain aura points” more than doubled

4. The top two trending movies were horror movies
- “maxxxine” and “longlegs” were the top trending movies
- “nicolas cage long legs costume” was the top trending costume
- Wyoming, South Dakota and Nevada are the only states searching Pearl more than X over the past year in the US; both films are prequels to MaXXXine
- “summer horror movies” is currently being searched more than ever before

5. People searching for the WNBA were also searching for Triple-double
- Searches asking “how many triple doubles in wnba history” increased +600%
- “what is a triple double basketball” is currently at an all-time high in search interest

Yes, I use Google trends a lot but some of those are not in my niches. I also subscribe to Exploding Topics by Brian Dean which he created after he sold Backlinko to SemRush. I do enjoy looking at Google trends. Most I see that are popular especially for Gen X ers. Im a baby boomer so finding some content there is interesting to see what trends are falling off and which trends are thriving.
