I lost my job shortly after the bank I worked for sold and found myself unemployed for a little over a year. I had long thought about setting up an Online Marketing Business to supplement my income during my retirement years, so determined not to waste time, I began my search for a quality group that could provide training in site-building, marketing skills, and content production.

I soon found an endless source of Get-Rich-Schemers and Scammers who were interested - not in their membership's education, but in their bank account growth. Disappointed and tired of the "same ole, same ole" rhetoric that had begun to sound like clanging cymbals, I was on the verge of giving up my dream of an online business when I luckily found Wealthy Affiliate, and signed up to find a huge and talented community of members.

While learning how to build a website and write content, I continued my search for a day job that would supplement my greatly reduced income. Fortunately, I found a very interesting position with an Online University that provides a great challenge. So my time is now divided between daytime work, and night-time learning. I am thankful that I have both, but find myself time-challenged at the end of a work day. I am still here at Wealthy Affiliate and committed to one day being one of the company's most successful affiliate marketers! I cannot imagine the regret I would feel down the road if I let this slip through my fingers because I am "too tired"!

I am the Mother of three, grandmother of four, and great grandmother of three. There are also two little poodle dogs (Jack & Becca) who constantly disagree over which one will get to spend lap time with me. These two pups are my self-appointed protectors and are no-nonsense guardians of all that comes within their line-of-sight. They express great umbrage for any-and-all who happen to innocently pass by on the street, pull into a neighbor's drive, or dare to knock on our front door.

Born during the WWII years, I could be classified as either a Traditionalist or a Baby Boomer. However, with my birth date sitting on the line between the two, I haven't been able to make up my mind which I prefer to be, so have decided to draw insight from one or the other as it suits my fancy, or perhaps to press a point I am trying to make. Frankly, I am still having problems trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up, so who knows what I might choose to do on any given day!

I have a very large extended family and a genealogy that includes at least two documented Revolutionary soldiers.  I remain a small town girl who never got the beach sand and corn field dirt out of her shoes, or lost her love for all things South-of-The- Mason-Dixon-Line.  Family, community, friends, great southern food, shopping, sun, nature, golf, a great fishing fleet, a bounty of rivers, lakes, creeks, and the great Gulf of Mexico make for an unbelievable magnetic force  that keep folks like me tied to the South.

Just a warning - I am a political news-junkie, and although I honestly try my best to be fair and balanced, I will invariably choose those conservative values instilled throughout my life.  Although many times misunderstood by some, conservative values are typically strong in faith, love, and empathy for one's fellow-man. Allowing all people to calmly speak and reason, I hope to always consider the finer points of every disagreement.  We are none right all the time. But I try.

The thing about online success that I have come to learn is that there is room for ALL of us within the online world. There is no marketplace that is bigger and there is nowhere that represents this kind of opportunity, regardless of your niche, passions and interests.

Take action on the training here at WA, immerse yourself within the community and ask for help when you need it. You will be well on your way to achieve your goals.

Well said on your introduction Zbeccha...Thanks for following me... I'm a newbie, and just getting started, too, and am very excited to take this at my own pace and not worry about throwing money away. My hope is to make some money with the starter system and then be able to pay for the monthly and upgrade to premium. I think it will be worth it in the long run.

Hi Zbeccah's,How many of us have been through the same torment especially on youtube, the very thing you want to know they not say, or their mouse pointer jumping all over the place and in the end I have completely lost where they are, and they expect people to be able to follow. Teaching is a gift not a hobby, before theses people upload their video's should edit them until they have it right.

#1 problem is so many scammers out there constantly finding ways to sell, sell, sell - with no regard for the buyer who simply needs critical information presented in orderly manner. I agree on the teaching being a gift, and some are just not fitted for the role. I am one who needs to know the why of a thing, I love graphs, pie charts, anything visual, and take copius notes; I know my limitations and want the basics first. The other will come later. I have been amazed at the wealth of knowledge here at WA, in addition to Kyle and Carson.

Hello Zbeccah.
I am sorry to hear about your job at the bank. My mother had the same issue, 4 years ago, when she lost her job in a bank that also sold out. She worked in "Alpha bank", that was sold to Greeks in that time. Maybe you heard about that one?
Anyways, I am also pursuing the home based job and I think I can achieve it, thanks to the WA community.
I hope you find your way to success.
Best wishes in your career in the future!
Much love,
Ognjen

So nice to hear from you Ogyman! I don't think it unusual anymore for people to lose their jobs, whether in buy outs or outright downsizing. Result of the times it seems, and I think more and more people are looking for security tied only to their abilities and willingness to work independently. Best of luck to you also!

Sorry to hear about your job loss Susan - it is not easy, but we must keep the right frame of mind and move forward and perhaps in the long run losing the job could turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to us! Bless you and good luck.

hi, I'm Robbie. Great decision to join WA, you can simply get on with learning and building your business without any distractions like you experienced in the past.

I specialize in keyword research, I'm not a master at it yet but Iv'e spent a lot of time doing it and quite often find hidden gems that others have missed. If you would like some help with keyword research i'm available to help my WA buddies. Just ask:)

Robbie :)

Thank splash (Robbie)! I appreciate your offer of help and you will probably see me here begging for help. I am hoping to settle down and stop clicking on tantalizing links here on WA! I need to concentrate on moving forward with the training but there is so much here that I tend to move off-subject sometimes! I feel it is best for me personally to go slow, and I read and read constantly. Good luck!

Yeah, going slow is good, steady. It's taken a long time for me to settle down and stop getting distracted. Still have that challenge. I need to settle back into some training again too. It's a pretty cool place here ah! While your doing your training don't hold back from asking for some keyword help. just ask. I help for free of course. Robbie :)
