Memorial Day Weekend - Safe Journey!
Am so hoping that everyone remembers on this Memorial Day Weekend all the brave who fought and died for our country. Originally declared to be called "Decoration Day", this Federal holiday was established after the Civil War, and the Day itself is honored and celebrated on the last Monday of May of each year. Let us never forget to give honor to the fallen, and please remember the sacrifices made by their families.
Among the many celebrations taking place around the country, we in Lower Alabama (Baldwin and Mobile Counties on your map) welcome the many visitors who pass through on their way to the stunning sugar-white-sands of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama! Please drive carefully and be patient with the traffic, and when you go home with a car load of that white sand, take all those who came with you back home, fully refreshed with all limbs intact!
Just heard about an hour ago that the A&E Duck Dynasty folks checked in with one of our major rental companies in Gulf Shores this morning. I wish them a wonderful and relaxing weekend, and am hopeful that they are allowed some privacy - if that is their wish!

I may have missed something great by not stopping in Alabama. I always kept driving east on I-10 to get to Panama City Florida. Next time I will stop.
Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are popular Spring Break Destinations for the young, but are typical family destinations offering miles of sugar-white sands Gulf Side, and then there are the miles of inland fresh water lakes and rivers. Golf Courses, Dolphin Cruises, Deep Sea Fishing Charters, Zip Lines, Water Park, Zoo Land, Great Restaurants, and much, much more! Plenty for the whole family to do! Tanger Outlet is located on Hwy 59 as you drive through Foley - for your shopping pleasure! From I-10, take exit 44 south onto AL State Hwy 59 and drive until you reach the Gulf waters! Paradise!
Oh yeah. I think I need a beach right now!
