We are Wealthy Affiliate Not Get Rich Quick Affiliate
Has anyone ever noticed it says Wealthy Affiliate not rich overnight affiliate in our program name? Many don't seem to get the difference. But there a difference between getting rich and getting wealthy.
Did you get hit by a Bus?
Getting hit by a bus can get one rich in a short period of time, just file a lawsuit and settle out of court for over 1 million dollars and you're considered rich. Hit a lottery and you're suddenly rich. Buy that ticket the night of the lotto drawing and you're an overnight millionaire but what are the odds of that happening. I mean who gets hit by a buss and survives or lives long enough to win the Mega Millions even once in a lifetime?
Can you get-rich-quick in affiliate marketing?
You can get rich more slowly in an affiliate marketing business by using pay per click advertising and reinvesting your earnings for a larger payout each time until that million dollar year arrives but that fast money in is fast money out because Pay Per Click Ads are not a lasting, sustainable, and long term source of income. You decide to cash out and stop advertising new money stops pouring in and you may end up broke again.
OK well you said wealthy was something different, I thought rich and wealthy were the same?
Not no but hell no. Wealth is achieved when your money and efforts are put to work earning you money for decades to come. You can be wealthy earning 200,000 a year or 400K, even 1 million but you have to take the longer route to get there.
You have to build a base like a blog and do things in a manner so you start getting tons of free traffic. Supplementing with paid ads is OK but do it to build your audience more than push sales. Instead of Google Ads think of promoting your Facebook Page using Facebook Ads and your blog content using native ads like Taboola. Have an e-mail list and be active in as many social networks as you feel comfortable using every day to share your fresh new content.
Add new content regularly, the more consistent and higher the volume the better your results.
As your blog grows demand for more fresh meat will too so feed it to your readers by taking on guest posters and ghost writers so you scale up and answer more of your readers questions faster. Soon the sky is the limits to what you are earning month after month. If you were to personally remove yourself from your blog for 6 months to take an extended retreat you can have content built for your site to stay fresh or let Google keep sending your current pages traffic and sales.
A big blog can earn money for years even after you stop writing to it. I have a developmental blog that has all of 3 post in the early retirement niche and it gets around 24-27 visitors a month and makes me about $2 a month in Adsense revenue and I haven't written to it in nearly a year. The traffic comes from one article on investing in Gold and Silver Bullion, and it shows that with a ton of post like that you could be earning tens of thousands a month long after you stop writing to your blog. That is wealth.
God bless and take care,
Andy Zeus Anderson

Andy,
Thank you for another great and insightful post and for pointing to that clear distinction in what we should consider as wealth.
Blessings!
Yes as the Rich Dad says. I would rather be wealthy than rich because these days anyone can be rich and the next day poor, but wealth stays with you.
Hello and thanks so much for sharing, hopefully for those who don't understand how this business goes will now after reading your post.
I feel sad because I learned the difference between being broke, being well off, being rich, and being wealthy at a very young age. Many didn't if you look at the number who come in and expect a regular paycheck thinking they just landed themselves a Job. They need money fast but money doesn't come fast unless you have money to get it.
Far too many people try to treat this as something they can make money in fast. This is more of an investment into making money long-term. Blackhat tactics can build faster but they don't last. Here we're working on things that will stand the test of time.
Don't get me wrong. I use to make a fair bit of fast money but it would have cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars to make it rich like that. PPC had me spending back 85% of what I earned to promote the next big thing so the money wouldn't fry up. I'm smarter now I blog.
Andy, great blog full of common sense, I try to preach the same basic concept..
Take care,
Stuart
Thanks, Stuart, I try to use common sense but it is getting less and less common these days.
Hi Andy, a very informative post, never heard of Taboola until you meantioned it in your post, maybe you could enlighten us none uses a little more at some point on how it helps you get traffic.
You will notice on a lot of news sites and larger blogs that they have a series of recommended content with large images and a post excerpt but it will say AD somewhere by it or Sponsored. These are native ads and they look like a related articles suggestion. They lead to a blog post on other websites instead of being product links. I like them because they push great, targeted traffic to reviews but it can be expensive to get in the door with some providers, still once you are in the door with the minimum budget these ads are more cost effective and higher converting than Google Ads.
Hi Andy, Thanks I think I have quite a lot to learn, will stay in touch , if you don't mind.
You’ve said it best!
Thanks for this post, I hope it gets the exposure it deserves, especially for new members!
I like it!

Thank you, post around here seem to grow legs but I shared the affiliate link to this post on Twitter to 17,000+. I will likely post it to LinkedIn and Facebook after some sleep as it's close to 2AM here than I would like it to be.
Ask them if there's a valid cashier check in their pocket and then delete. It could be the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol because I might have already won.
LOL some say insanity helps I say working a Just Over Broke for 40 years is insanity, mine is insanity that pays.

Great blog, Andy!!! People need to realize success does not come easy. It takes work and dedication!
Some think the home business is not a real business and that 30 minutes a day are all you need. Well maybe if you can set a ghostwriter on the task in 10 minutes and run a PPC campaign in 20 minutes it will work out but not likely. You get out what you put in.
