Good day all,

I wanted to create this blog as an accountability log for myself, as well as, to help others who are on this journey. I think being able to internally blog within the community to help others is an awesome idea. There are so many ways to use this feature (please be sure to review the guidelines for Wealthy Affiliate blogs and no spamming rules below:

My progress to date

September 21, 2016 - Updated Name Servers on Current Domain
Mindset: The last two days have really been a challenge for me, however, I did reach out to the community with a few questions and I can say doing so helped me refocus. Today, I changed the name serves of a domain that I currently already owned so I am moving ahead and further committing to the process. Onward and upward I go.

September 17 - 18, 2016 - Connected with Wealthy Affiliate Members and more
Mindset: Today I read a post where someone asked what we do on Sunday's. They mentioned that they plan ahead for the week on how they will work on their business. I thought this was a very good plan to think about the week ahead for business. Planning ahead and writing down all my thoughts is something that I am incorporating in my business this time around.

I lay in the bed every morning a few extra minutes or wake up early to pray and then jot down whatever comes to mind and throughout the day I continue to keep my note pad open and a blog post emerges.

I have also, in between all this, thinking of how I want my website to look, feel, and the content I want to speak about.

Funny because earlier in the week, I was solid on my niche and then the noise in my head began to try to talk me out of it. For the past few days I have been trying to push past the noise. On some days, I think the noise won because I created two other website base, no content has emerged. :(

This was a problem of mine in the past but I refuse to let it be a rock that I continue to sit on in my future.

September 16, 2016 - Created About Me page on website and more
Mindset: Today I created my About Me page on my website. This was a big relief for me because it helped me to focus more and lay out the foundation of what my website will be about. I became transparent which was a stress relief for me. I was never a big person to type out my struggles but everyone has a story and our stories are meant to be told to inspired, uplift and help others.

Today I also went to Site Rubix and provided feedback on others websites and content. It was very inspirations to see what others are thinking of and creating. There are some very talented people and we all have a place in reaching out to someone in various areas of their lives.

Keep pressing forward

September 15, 2016 – Community Connections & Questions

Mindset: Today I wanted to focus on building more relationships within the community. There are so many creative people here at Wealthy Affiliate and you never know who you will connect with that will spark your creative juices to flowing or have the same interest as you.

If you have not done so already, I challenge you to make it a goal to reach out and say hi to at least 10 new people.Read a few of their blogs, goto a few of their websites and see what inspirational feedback you obtain from within that will help to propel you further in your journey.

If you can, come back and let me know what you discovered further about yourself in doing this challenge.

September 14, 2016 – Created a blog post on Wealthy Affiliate called Planted in Good Soil - this will post tomorrow. See Wealthy Affiliate Tip below

Mindset: My goal is to create a blog post everyday of value. I am currently still working a full time job, I am a wife and mother of 3 beautiful children. Since my time is limited, I have to plan my time online so that it is well spent. I am constantly reading, listening, thinking and learning about business ideas, setting personal/business goals, and developing my business foundation. In order to keep all this at my finger tips, I use an app on my Android phone called Google Keep. The app even allows me to export the content I have created to Google Drive, Email, text, etc. Creating content offline is a good way to use, what I call “The Think Tank” time efficiently so when you are ready to hop onto Wealthy Affiliate or even your own business website, you are ready for action. I post my blog then come and connect with the community daily. Taking baby steps to success!

Wealthy Affiliate Tip: Keep in mind during your 1st three months of your membership here at Wealthy Affiliate, you are only able to post one blog a day (this includes updates to a current blog post). Since I am doing an accountability track, this means that one day I will have an accountability track update and the next day I will post the blog.

September 13, 2016 - Created my 1st Wealthy Affiliate Community Blog for accountability

Mindset:

Why should you create an accountability blog post?

  • Great way to create a new habit for yourself/business
  • Helps you to visually see your goals and achievements (I suggest creating small bit goals, add start and completion dates so you can see your progress and accomplishments and celebrate each milestone. Do not be embarrassed if the lapse times are far apart. Just make sure you taking ACTION daily.

  • September 11, 2016 - Upgraded to Premium Member/began to set up my website

Mindset: I was amazed that the price to become a premium member was affordable and very doable as I am learning through the process. This made the decision to upgrade very quick and very easy. I did not have even look to see what the compensation plan was before I upgraded because there was so much value displayed in the basic member plan.

September 09, 2016 - Joined Wealth Affiliate as a basic member

Mindset: Excited that this opportunity came around for me. I had been searching on the internet for another network marketing/affiliate program that I could join that included website creation and products. I did not want to go back to my previous network as I did not want to pay the high monthly membership knowing that I would need to take my time to really understand the program and mesh it with my niche. The monthly cost just was not affordable to for me.

I really liked that I could join as a basic member here at Wealthy Affiliate and obtain a website as well. I was also excited that the trainings were true trainings and not just teasers of information in order for me to purchase the full product to gain understanding of how to use the tool and then try to teach the tool to someone else so that I could gain a commission.

Being in other network marketing/affiliate programs have been stressful and overwhelming as the teaching was for fast track learning to fast track commissions. Although this was not directly said, this was the language of the community. I was more focused on making money, building my site, creating videos about a product I really did not understand, than trying to build relationships and providing value, therefore I said I quit day after day after day until I finally canceled my membership after about 3 months.

    Lesson Learned:

    • Sometimes we quit to early in the process. Although others seems to be taking the fast track to success, you have to stop and ask yourself, or them for that matter, if they are telling you the full story of how long they have truly been in the business and how many ups and downs they have been through prior to them obtaining their current success.
    • There was a learning curve that I did not allow myself to grasp. The need for fast money clouded my focus, my view and my goals. The key is to take your time, make continuous small steps towards success and know that everyone's path is different. Keep the course at your own pace according to your goals.
    • Time management is a big key when you have a husband and children. You must learn to prioritize your time. I will discuss this in another blog

Thank you for taking time out of your schedule to read this post. I would love your feedback, post your progress, or let me know your comments or suggestions.

    Taking steps toward success,

    ~ Yvonne K.
