i used the passwords in my website details using the 'admin' user name but they do accept 'admin' as a user name. I have used my WA user name and my email also with no success.<
Hello Amanda,
I am not sure if this is going to help you at all regarding AKISMET however I did a post on AKISMET Key recovery some time ago,
you may consider having a look at it.

You are awesome.....i hope the answer is there....i have read almost all training and blogs and cannot figure it out. I have put in a support ticket with Akismet. ..hopefully they can help too!
I see a new blog about this in my future! What a learning experience!

Hi Amanda! -
I am sure Kyle would cover this in the training!
Have you not got to that part yet?
Oh come on Dave....of course i have.....i know better than that. I have tried every variation possible....am wondering if changing my wordpress password has confused things. I can get into wordpress with my new password from WA site...so why wont it work in Akismet? Also wondering if there a refreshment period for changing the passwords.
I have been struggling with this for some time now...it is really holding me back!
hey Amanda,
it's not recommended to change your WP admin password, as this could lead to login issues later on.
You can always create a new user to "Amanda" and have a new password you want, and login into WP with that user name instead of admin.
Hope this helps!
-Jimmy
Sorry Amanda - I didn't realise you had been here for as long as you have!
I thought you were just trying to by-pass the training!
Sorry again.
My akismet key I got from Wordpress.com years ago.
That side of things is handled by http://akismet.com/wordpress/ now I believe - my akismet key looks like this cdfhi73554
I don't know if this will help or not - I hope it does! :)
Hi Jimmy....thats exactly how i got myself in this situation. All i wanted to do was change my user name and i had to create new password to do that.
My new user name and password does work for Wordpress...but not recognized by Akismet.
I do remember reading in the training that it is not recommended to change these....however what is done...is done. Would love to reset to default if that is possible.
Thanks for the input...i will keep at it! Cheers!
Thankyou so much Dave....i will try asking Akismet for support help and see what i get.
Again...thankyou for the support...very much appreciated!

What password information do i use for akismet key?
i used the passwords in my website details using the 'admin' user name but they do accept 'admin' as a user name. I have used my WA user name and my email also with no success.<
Thankyou all for your support....i got it solved....for future reference i had to go go Akismet and start an account seperate from wordpress lead...then i went back in through wordpress here and entered everything as it should be and low and behold i have my key!!!! Something so simple but turned into quite a challenge! Again thankyou to all for the help....and Carson for referring a video i hadnt come a cross yet...it had the hidden clue of setting up at Akismet.com. first.
Sunshiny smiles to all!

I published my posts and would like them as pages on my menu but having difficulty finding a way to move them and add to menu...in my Steve the Mover site.
you have to create a category. create a category then go to appearance-menus and add that category to the menu like you would with a regular page. when you write your posts, on the right you'll see your categories. check the category box of the one you want and when you publish, your post will be on that page.
I will give it a whirl...thankyou kissiah .....I thought I did that....but will go back and see. Much appreciated!

lol..no problem. i just found out how to do it myself. i tried creating a page in the "page" section and couldn't figure out why i couldn't add posts to it until someone showed me the way... :-)
So did you have to rewrite them? Or can they be moved? I have created the categories but cannot find any option to move the post to a page and apply title to menu.
Thank you for explaining this Kissiah! I have been pulling hair out about this all day. Now I'm a happy bunny! :oD
Hello Kissiah, I created a post but it keeps showing up under my main page, however I'd like it to show up as a post under "Golf Equipment" page. How do I get it to the right page?
thanks, I have had the same problem for awhile:) now I`m one step closer to content on my page:)

Thank you for posting this! I was struggling for hours trying to figure it out. I was trying to do this with multiple pages. I deleted the pages and recreated them as categories... then added those categories back to the menu. Now I select the appropriate category (page title) for my posts and it shows up! Simple.
