I'm not sure you're going to like my answers, Willie: almost never, and therefore moot. Now, that's about our dog...
If I answer about my tropical fish hobby, then it's completely different. I buy nearly everything online (local stores pitiful to nonexistent, eg Walmart). My top five are Aquabid.com, Amazon, Drs Foster and Smith, wetspot.com, and maybe marinedepot.com. Most searches go only to the first 3.
How many times do I search before buying? Usually first real hit does it.
How are those answers? Better?
Tim
I have guinea pigs and a hamster, so its just when I need some more stuff for them. For guinea pigs the top one is a search for hay by going on specific websites and cleaning items. I buy almost everything online for my pets, it is a lifesaver.
My grandson and granddaughter both have hamsters in their room. They both sleep during the day and come alive at night. I think they both compete to see who can run on the wheel the longest. When I stay the night, you can hear one running in one room and the other in another room. One will start and stop and then the other will start up. This will go on all night long well into the morning. Thank you for the reply. It will help greatly.
Happy to help.
It all depends on the need at the time but these our latest searches -
!. Flea collars. Very expensive in shops here $60-$100 for one!
Doesn't help that we have 9 cats lol
2. Homemade cat food.
3. Homemade cat toys.
4. Cat beds.
5. Funny cat merchandise e.g clothing with cat sayings, nik nak things. My daughter just bought headphones with cat ears.
2nd question.
For us, on average 3 searches before we buy.
We find what we want and other two searches are just to see if we can get a better deal :)
Hope that helps
Crazy Cat Lady lol
I only search for items as I need them. Last week, the litter scoop broke, so I searched for a new, metal one. So, as I need items... if an item I'm using breaks, or a new need arises, that's when I search. I usually look for products with the best reviews and ratings.
Well for me, I look for items online that would not be normally found in actual stores. I find that the internet has a wider selection of clothing overall for pets, compared to in store.
I also look for innovative items. I recently needed a water fountain / water filter for my cats to keep their water clean. So I looked on a few websites on the first page of Google and that was it. I settled to buy on amazon because I couldn't find anywhere cheaper or that would ship so fast (I used prime).
I hope this helps.

Hi, Willie. I have a dog and cat, but don't do hardly any shopping online at all because I don't want my credit card numbers on there. And never shop online for my pet supplies.
However, I have a friend who has a dog and gets most of her stuff her it from Chewey. I have no idea how many searches she did before she settled on it for her go to place. Sorry. Carol
Thanks you for your reply.
