The Need to Focus

I haven’t been on here much lately, but I have been keeping busy. I’ve been working on my own websites (somewhat), but I am also in charge of three different not-for-profit organization’s websites as well. One is wanting some revamping done. I know this doesn’t make me any money, but it has been teaching me new skills that I can apply to my other websites if needed. I’m always ready to learn and this has definitely been a learning opportunity.

I recently adopted a rescue cat, and I’ve been spending time with him. It’s a slow process, but I’m finally gaining his trust, and he’s finally coming out into the house a little more.

The picture shown isn’t of my cat. I’ve tried getting a picture of him the few times he has come out, but the camera scares him. He’s a little over a year old, and has spent most of his life in a 5’ x 5’ cage, so our house is all new to him. We had two cats, but one died this Spring. The other one has really been depressed, so we really though that she needed a friend as she’s never been alone. Even though they’re far from best friends, the new cat has definitely perked her up.

I love all animals and another project that’s caught my attention recently is observing two owls that have been hanging out in our yard. I love bird watching, but owls aren’t the easiest to catch as they’re usually out at night. One of them sits on a low branch of a mimosa tree at the corner of our yard and I usually catch him out there at dusk. One early morning I lucked out and caught them both sitting up in a tree close to the house. I was thrilled to get this picture.

I wish I found it easier to write, but I’ve been struggling with that lately. I have so many ideas, and I feel like I’m headed in so many directions. Sometimes I feel like a mentor would help me, but I’m not really comfortable in asking others for help. I do read a lot of motivational material, but reading isn’t doing.

I may be away from the computer quite a bit next month as I’ll be spending a lot of time with friends and family. Hopefully by September I will have a better focus, along with increased motivation. Wish me well. 👍

Focus is often hard to hang on to. Good luck with yours. Also, glad you adopted a new kitty. He should make things flow a little easier for you.

Hope the writing gets easier. It's a challenge, for sure.

Hopefully after things slow down the focus will return. Sometimes it does seem that writing can really be a challenge.

Believe me, you aren't the only one who feels that way.

Wow, Cynthia--are those Barn owls? Either way, they look awesome. That is a stellar image!

Here, Kitty has always been alone, and she seems good with it. If I was to introduce another cat here in the cramped eBay house, that would likely not go well!

I hope you have an excellent wind down of summer with friends and family! That will be GREAT for the soul!

We'll see you when you get back--we only live once! Seize it!

Jeff

These are Barred owls. I felt very lucky to get them both in the same pic.

Pepper has never been alone until our other cat passed. She really seemed depressed, and I can see the difference since bringing in the other cat.

I'll be in here on and off over the next month. I'm looking forward to all the visits I have planned, it just seems they're all coming at once. I hope to get back on track in September.

I'm glad that Pepper is feeling better since the introduction of the other cat, Cynthia!

Good idea you found a new friend for your cat. I understand that feeling.
She will get over the depression soon.
You are doing great learning new things. Most important is that you're making good use of it.
Enjoy the weekend.

Yes, she has perked up since we brought the other cat home. I think with time they will grow closer.

The woman who's requesting certain things on one of the websites is really pushing my limits on what I can do, but so far I have done what she wants. It has helped my confidence.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend as well. 🙂

Hi Cynthia…what a fabulous photo of your Barred Owls! I’m crazy for birds too, especially owls and know how difficult it is to capture them. Well done and lucky you!

I’m sorry you lost one of your cats in the spring but that’s awesome of you to bring in a new one for your remaining kitty. I hope in time all works itself out. As for focus, you’ll get there. Sometimes we just get pulled in too many directions.

Thanks for the share! Have a good weekend.

Susan

I know you post beautiful pictures of birds that I enjoy. I keep trying to get some more shots whenever I see them. I have several of the one sitting in the mimosa tree, but it's rare to get them both together.

My kitty that passed would have been 15 years old in May. He was a feral we caught as a kitten. I can never replace him, but I can give another kitty a chance at a good home.

Next month will be a whirlwind for me; hopefully the focus will set in soon after; thanks. 🙂

Thank you for that beautiful photo! It’s very special that you have them nearby. What a treat! It is indeed rare to see a pair.

It’s heartwarming to hear of your kitty tales. I have one too that was a feral kitten when he found me…they are so wonderful. I’m glad you’re able to give another one a home.

Take care with all that’s going on. :-)

Focus? What's that...grin.

You sound like you are exactly where you need to be.

Helping others does in turn help ourselves with learning more about whatever that is, in your case, learning more about your websites by helping others with theirs.

If you need any help, you know where to find me...grin.

Have fun with your new kitty, Im sure he is having a great time exploring his new environment!

Rudy

Thanks Rudy, you've helped me out so much before. Your offer is exceptional especially knowing how difficult I can be to work with. 😜

I'm glad that I chose the kitty that I did. Many would have taken him back when he's hid for so long. He was behind the washing machine for a week. He's slowly coming around though, and I'm sure he'll be spoiled in no time. 🐈
