Seriously! Don't give up ever...

Whether you are just starting out or have been part of the WA community for a while, this is a friendly reminder to never give up on pursuing your dreams.

If you are just starting out, the road ahead is long but just remember that anything worth doing in life will be hard. There is always a learning curve and you must learn how to embrace that and be comfortable at being a beginner.

A quick story about when I bought my first car. I always thought that driving stick shift was super cool. I made a decision that when I got my first car that it would be a manual transmission car. Before buying the car I had no experience driving a stick shift card, heck I didn't even know there was a clutch in there.

My friend went with me to pick up my car and he had to drive it back to my place. This was a bit embarassing for me but he didn't mind at all. I finally had my first car, I was super excited to commute to and from work with my new car! The only problem was that....I didn't even know how to get it moving. I learned how to turn it on but that was about it.... I kept stalling and never left the parking spot for a good 3 days. I had a brand new car but I still was taking the bus to work.

One day I decided that I was going to make it happen and well I started researching youtube videos on how to drive a stick shift and asked my friend to teach me the basics. After many failed attempts and hard work I finally was able to get the car out of the parking spot. As I kept learning how to drive my new car, I faced new challenges. There were many things to keep in mind while driving and one of the biggest challenges I faced was when the car was on a hill. It was difficult for me to keep the car from rolling back.

Anyway, after about 2 weeks of hard work I finally got to where I was comfortable driving. A month later I was comfortable with other people being in the car with me. Then as they say, it was history after that. After a while it became second nature to me and I felt weird driving a non stick shift car afterwards.

The point of that story is to highlight that no matter how difficult you think something may be. As long as you are dedicated and allow yourself to fail then with time the skill will come.A lot of times it may seem that someone gets things a lot quicker than you, but eventually so will you.

Seek support and don't be shy about asking for help or admitting that you may not understand something. This is a wonderful community for you to explore all of your options and take advantage of all of the training materials that is being offered to you.

Thank you William for a great post ;-)

I was told right at the get go no question is a bad question not asking a question is defeating a purpose of goals
or success, YOURS..

So true and it doesn't matter how small the question every one is important. ;-)

I agree. It also took me a while to ask for help and it is still a problem. I prefer to spend the time looking for the answer through the search bar (blog posts and Kyle's training) but learn sometimes that it is old information that needs to be changed!

When someone asks for help, be very specific in stating your question. That gets you a better answer.

I also was a bit shy in the beginning but it's so important to ask. I would pm somebody too which I have done on many occasions for help.
regards Debs ;-)

Yes it is a great place to learn. When I first started I didn't want to ask for help from anyone but I soon found out that it wasn't so bad. I was afraid people would belittle me or something but they didn't. They were so helpful. I encourage anyone to ask because that is why we are all here. To help!!

Tried and true

Elaine

Hi, Elaine,
I know I too felt silly sometimes. Every question little or small are all important.
I have found though nobody has ever laughed even at my most ridiculous questions. Everybody just loved to help.
Debs ;-)

Well said!

I am glad you allowed yourself the opportunity of being vulnerable and asking those questions! We often tend not to ask questions because we may seem "stupid" or something along those lines. The truth is that there are no stupid questions.

So true

Thanks William this is a very good reminder to not give up, ever!

Very true! A lot of times we lose focus or give up because something may seem hard or too out of reach. Little did we know that with each passing day of hard work, we increase our chances of success.

Thanks William!

Wayne
