Wow!, lots of answers, I am very pleased. The niche I was thinking about is every portable device that runs windows, from tablets to mini laptops. I think I will focus in english due to the huge community that surrounds informatics and videogames.
Please forgive me fellow members here at WA. I’m going to answer in Spanish, because I don’t feel I can transmit exactly what I intend to transmit in English. I don’t intend to be rude; it’s just that English is not my first language. So, please-please forgive me!
¡Hola! Mi primer idioma tampoco es inglés. Y pasé por ese mismo dilema: ¿Qué idioma voy a utilizar para crear mi sitio web? Particularmente coloqué en balanza el público que podría alcanzar dependiendo de mi elección, y finalmente me decidí por inglés. Obviamente, tengo proyectos de páginas en español, pero por ahora estoy contento con el progreso de mi sitio web en inglés. La decisión final es tuya. Solo comparto contigo mi experiencia porque también llegué a esa misma encrucijada.
Hay varias personas aquí en WA, cuyo primer idioma tampoco es inglés, pero tienen sus páginas en inglés. Hace algún tiempo atrás escribí un post al respecto. Le puedes echar un vistazo aquí: English is not my first language. How many of us can say that here at Wealthy Affiliate? Si tienes un dominio aceptable del inglés, no creo que tengas inconvenientes. Pero una vez más, la decisión final es tuya. Crear y mantener un sitio web conlleva a escribir mucho, y debes estar cómodo con la decisión que tomes. :)
It looks clear to me you should start in Spanish, but I leave that up to you. I do understand Paela... and Si? :P
I highly recommend concentrating on only 1 language. When you have income flowing in you can use more languages.
My native language is Finnish but I figured out (+2 years ago) that the audience is much larger when I use English even though I make grammatical mistakes. It was a wise decision.
However, Spanish has also a large audience so you can be successful with it also. I have friends who have very successful YouTube channels in Portugues and Bosnian.
So, decide what kind of audience you want to target and what is your goal overall. Then it's easier to choose which language to use. But don't use 2 from the start! :)
It very much depends on your chosen niche. For instance, if you want to promote wealthy affiliate's and you do so in Spanish you will find many people who are interested. The drawback maybe they do not have sufficient grasp of English to be able to benefit from wealthy affiliate's.
You have to decide 1st to your target audience Is and why
It depends who you want to reach, if Spanish is your native language and these are the people you want to reach, start with Spanish (even outside of Spain many speak Spanish) Over time you can always decide to add a second language.
Actually, I do not really know which group I want to target, but I think the niche would be bigger if I target english speakers, as it is the international language.The language is not a problem.
