Hey William,
Loes explains it perfectly here: Difference between feedback and comments Hope you find this helpful.
It's not mine, it Loes... and I hope you clicked on the "Like This" button if it DID help you, as that is how Loes will eventually gain credit for creating this great tutorial.
Hi William, there is a difference between, offering feedback and offering comments.
- with feedback, you are engaging with a website and usually offering an appraisal or pointing out aspects or elements of that website that could do with improvement or that are working and bringing benefit to the site, from your viewpoint.
- with comments, you are engaging with a post, this can be on a website or even a social media post.
The comment usually relates to the content and context of the post or article.
In both cases, your feedback or comment should be relevant to either the website or post/article.
Hi - they are two entirely different things and should not be confused.
Feedback is private between yourself and the site owner. It is your opportunity to advise them as to any improvements they could make to the site, such as layout, imagery, content etc.
Comments relate to the one article you are being asked to read, with the intention they are going to be published to the website. You should approach these as if you were a genuine visitor to the site. The comments should be relevant to the article, well-thought-out and engaging, adding to the conversation and value of the article. This is not the place to suggest improvements or criticise the website.
