I'd like to set up my site's home page so it's half static and half blog roll. How might I do that, oh experienced ones? Right now, it's set to blog roll only.

Great idea Wendy - i"m looking at doing this too!

You'll want to set your homepage to be a page & then install a plugin that'll allow you to use a shortcode to display posts.

Once you've got the plugin installed you'll simply edit the page you set as your homepage & paste the shortcode where you'd like your posts to display :)

Hybrid home page? half blog roll, half static.
