Actually using my laptop at a cafe!

I bought a Chromebook for my blogging activities.

I realized that I was having a hard time compartmentalizing my home life from my working life. So I decided that I would take a laptop to a cafe so I could work on my blog for a while, and then close the laptop and stop thinking about work for the day.

Yesterday my Chromebook arrived. I charged it, and set it up with all of my login information.

Today I showed up at a quiet cafe in my town, bought a celebratory mocha and breakfast sandwich, and worked for three hours in peace.

After another hour or so, I'll close this laptop and go to pick up my son from school.

I cannot express how contented I feel right now.

All that focus. All of the pleasant ambience.

I'm feeling a frisson of pleasure, because today I took that first step toward living the laptop lifestyle.

Instead of being at home in my pajamas, I'm out in public with my makeup on. I feel so functional. Like a semi-glamorous adult.

And I'm wearing the prettiest sweater.

Today's a good day to be a blogger. I'm so happy.
