The Legend of the Smiling Shoes

Purchased this shoes five years ago and seldom used it. Lately I changed job that requires quick movement and flexibility Therefore for the last four months this shoes serve its purpose, carrying 65 kilos for 5 days a week. My job requires me to perform for 8 to 9 hours per day. My shoes served me well without complaint. Rain or shine, dusty or muddy I utilized it to the fullest.

Few weeks ago I notice some crack on the sole, which get bigger day by day until almost half of both sole separated. I supposed to fixed it, so decided to let it dry under the sun. Then at a glance I notice that it looks like he is smiling at me. It wears a very big smile! Why?

Yes I know the feelings and what he is after for. He wants to be liberated and be free to carry me every day for five days a week. His happy face tells me that his purpose is being fulfilled and he wants me to release him by discarding him.

He is happy for his purpose of creation (being a shoe) was fulfilled. I am happy to discard it and have a new pair of shoes.

I hope this will put a smile in your face while doing your daily routine here in WA.

Someone said.
“Those who defend their limitations tend to keep them.”
Suzay says, “Those who let their limitations go become limitless.”
If you put your energy into expectations that serve parents, family, but
are not your true direction in your life, you will waste time, procrastinate, be unhappy.
This is like when someone on the road gets angry and blasts their horn at you.
Can they drive their car and yours at the same time? Or can you expect your children to drive their car and yours at the same time? Or you, can you direct someone else’s life, like they co dependently are trying to be in the driver’s seat of your own life and vehicle, telling you what they want you to do?
You are not a child anymore, take back your powerful Power from those oldy-moldy voices from your past, turn the volume down to MUTE.
The answer to all of these is No! Put up the wall. Your life, you drive your life.
You blame no one but you if stuff goes wrong, man up and you fix it. Be proud you did not blame! Blaming others gives your power to change your life away to the one you put the blame on. Man up! Cowboy up! Etc. UP!
Blessings Al, I gave you many keys to happy, productive self-directed life,
From my heart to yours, this is a massive gift that you will love, and it will love you back! It is ready now to simply incorporate into your being. Do it now!
Your WA Auntie,
WAuntie Zay with love

Yes, Al, the post made me smile.
I have a pair of dress shoes, made by Rockport, that are now 28 years old. Wore them almost every day back in the 90''s when I also wore a suit to work. Had them re-soled twice. After I retired from that job in 2007 the shoes only got wore on Sundays. When the top started to crack open I bought a new pair but the old ones are still so much more comfortable than the new ones that I buff them up and wear them occasionally.
After reading your story I think I will dispose of the old ones so I will be forced to break in the new ones and make them more comfortable.
Archie

Hi Archie,
wow a 28 years old shoes, what a craft you had in there and it served you well without complain. It is worth to be displayed in a museum....
The choice is yours....have great day always!
Cheers,
Al

Love it, reminds me of when I was living in Australia. I had some old runners and put them down the “ Shute” to the furnace. Stunk out the whole apartment block for 1 day. Lol. People kept asking me, can you smell that, it’s disgusting.
Thanks for the memories.
Stephen

Am happy it helps you recall past memories, pleasant or not, it well help a lot for our mind to function well. Becoming older kept me forget many things....Bear ☺ pondering those memories!
Al

Yes sir, you really made those shoes smile! It was nice to see you show appreciation for an item the most take for granted.

I know the next pair will be appreciated too.

Canty

Hi Canty,
Thank you for your comment. I take even the miniscule thing very seriously for everything exists for a reason and purpose.
Best regards,
Al

Very nice, Dumago! A great analogy too!
