I know this has been covered in the past but I am checking to see if there is any new stuff on this. Should we allow pings for our posts?
Google opinions are divided. Some say yes, others say no.
What are your thoughts?

I always turn them off on my sites. Most of the pings are from bots that I don't really want to be associated with.

I turned them off after receiving 2 very strange comments that I could not open on one of my posts. Even after doing that, I received one on Viagra on a post about ballroom dancing! I marked them all as spam and deleted them.
