Today is a very Good Friday!

I am a fan of Easter eggs and chocolate bunny's and all of the trappings of the festival that has been come to be known as the "Easter Celebration", but for those of us who are Christians, we also remember what the real reason is for the celebration:

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

John 3:16

After twelve years of Catholic school and having that pretty much beat into me( :) ) even in my "advanced" years I still remember why and give thanks for the grace that has been given to us, for the life we have and the freedom to express that love of God.

So today, Good Friday, we should all be humbled and in awe of the sacrifice our Lord Jesus made for all of us, believers or not, and await his resurrection on Sunday with hope and gratitude.

Happy Easter to all who read this in whatever way that means to you.
