How to get exactly what you want by helping others first

You can read it in many books and it's been said many times before.
If you want to get something you need to give first.
As of today I've been here at Wealthy Affiliate for 45 days.
I've had the attitude of giving as much as humanly possible since I've been here.
I've spent every spare minute giving and helping others here on Wealthy Affiliate and I've built some great relationships. I feel like I've grown personally and learned a great deal myself about Internet Marketing on top of what I already knew.
I love sharing the information I have and learn and love helping others with their problems.
Yesterday, I had an idea to create a few sales pages on my new personal website I'm building and I needed testimonials. I know how valuable testimonials are in selling online because I use them on my photography website.
If you're not using testimonials in your marketing you should start, they are like gold!
Here's an example of where I use over 100 testimonials on my photography website.

My Requests
I haven't really asked for any help yet on Wealthy Affiliate until yesterday. I put up two posts in the discussion area asking for testimonials and almost immediately I was flooded with what I needed.

The Proof Is Before You
I'm convinced that if I had asked for these testimonials in my first few days I would not have had anywhere near the response I'm getting now.
I would just like to say a BIG Thank You to all of you that gave me testimonials and to those that will do so in the future.
You can apply this lesson in many areas of life.

I can never have too many testimonials, so you can still write one for me if you wish.

Hey there, you are so right. When you give you receive 10-fold without even realizing it.... We all need to have this attitude and things will work so much easier -- both at the business as well as personal levels. I think it is great how quickly we all are getting to know each other and develop a working friendship. Thank you for making me realize even more just how awesome both you and the people here are. I saw your testimonial request but I decided to hold off on giving you one because it would not have the same quality as longer standing members here :)

It is a great lesson, Wayne. Even if, as you say, we heard it before, it is wonderful to see it realized. You are a great resource and the best of all is that you certainly emulate others to be and do the same way (beginning by me...). Great stuff!
Hey Wayne, haven't asked for testimonials myself but I know in the future I will and I'm sure that the WA community being the best supportive community in the World, I know they will help me out as usual.

Thanks, yea I just work on it here and there when I get time. I don't even have it setup with google although they may find it through regular scans of my domain which has been around for 14 years. I'm not doing a big push on it until I can really get a lot of content on it.
Very true Wayne. I recently watched the latest Spider Man movie and they changed up Uncle Ben's old line about responsibility to something more along this line of thought. I wasn't a huge fan that they changed the line, but I still liked the new one too.
