So every WA member sure likes to have lots of comments in their blogs right?

Well at least I do, but what a bout quality instead of quantity in our comments? I've seen quantity over quality so many times and not just in my blog but in other fellow members.

Picture this... you are shopping at Amazon or what ever and then you find a product of interest and then click on reviews. The first comment you read is:

"I purchased this product. Thanks."

Okaaay so...you think that's really useful to you in your purchase decision?

Now picture this... you land on my website by some reason and you find comments on my product review article that say:

"Your site is very nice. I like the background." or

"You are a good writer, what you say will be very useful to others. Thanks"

(an actual comments from fellow WA member). Imagine if I just copy-paste that for my comment exchange here at WA. Do you think that will boost your blog in some way, or help real visitors to your blog in order to make a decision or create more interest in what you say? of course NOT!!

When I take the task to help other WA members with my comments on their blogs, I don't just pick the first comment request I see in the activity dashboard and write a general thing like the previous examples. In fact, if I comment is because I really want to help and I'll try my best to sound legit. So this is what I do:

I WILL COMMENT IF:

  1. Your niche is about something I have some knowledge about, or
  2. Your niche is really something I would be interested in.
  3. I can post a question related to your article, that I think would arise interest to other readers.

I WILL NOT COMMENT IF:

  1. You have still unsolved issues on your website like (navigation does not work well, you have empty pages, your have 4 line articles, etc.).
  2. Your niche is about something I can't say or ask anything useful to others.

So people please... it's better to post one good thing to one blog instead of 5 quick useless comments such as:

  • Just saying hello,
  • Just saying that you'll visit again,
  • Complimenting that you're a good writer, without putting the actual content in context of the comment.
  • Asking or commenting something about the theme, or web design, or even worse...about affiliate marketing.

CONCLUSION

Comment on other blogs just as you would like to be commented in yours. You'll get what you put out, so if you have a true legitimate attitude to help, please keep the previous tips in mind before you post comments, okay?

Cheers and success to everyone!!

I agree less can often be more.... quality over quantity is always best

Good post. I've mentioned this before in one of my blogs and I think Old Mule wrote a blog about it also. It's just the fact that new people don't realize that people don't want WA comments on their website. Comment about the content on the website and comment about the website here at WA. You're on the right track. Thanks for sharing.

Hi DNave, yes someone else here pointed that out as well. I'm just about a couple of months old here so I didn't know this has been addressed before.
Well I guess the more we say it the more people will be aware of this hehe. Cheers!
